The dangers of sitting too much and how to combat it

Are you sitting too much? In today's world, many of us lead sedentary lifestyles, spending hours sitting at desks, in front of computers, or on the couch watching TV. Unfortunately, this type of lifestyle can have serious health consequences.

Sitting for long periods of time has been linked to a host of health problems, including obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and even early death. But why is sitting so dangerous? One reason is that it causes your muscles to become inactive, which can lead to a decrease in metabolism and an increase in weight gain.

Additionally, sitting for extended periods can lead to poor posture, back pain, and even disc damage.

So what can you do to combat the dangers of sitting too much? Here are some tips to get you started:

- Take Frequent Breaks

One of the simplest ways to combat the dangers of sitting is to take frequent breaks. Get up and walk around every 30 minutes or so, even if it's just for a minute or two. This will help increase blood flow and keep your muscles active.

- Stretch Regularly

Sitting for extended periods can cause your muscles to become stiff and tight, which can lead to pain and discomfort. To combat this, make sure to stretch regularly throughout the day. Simple stretches like reaching overhead, twisting from side to side, and bending forward can help keep your muscles loose and flexible.

- Use a Standing Desk

Standing desks are becoming increasingly popular as a way to combat the dangers of sitting. These desks allow you to work while standing, which can help keep your muscles active and increase blood flow. If you don't have access to a standing desk, you can also try working at a high table or counter.

- Incorporate More Movement into Your Day

In addition to taking frequent breaks, try to incorporate more movement into your day. Take the stairs instead of the elevator, walk or bike to work instead of driving, or take a walk during your lunch break.

The after effects of taking cold drinks can never be over emphasized. Truth be told, if cold drinks (water) do not affect you when you are young, they will surely affect you as you are getting older.

Cold drinks close up, up to 4 veins of the heart which leads to Heart Attack. Not just that, it affects the liver also. This is because it makes fat to be stored in the liver which makes it very unhealthy. Do you really know that most people waiting for liver transplant are victims of cold water drinking?

Therefore, the earlier you stop taking cold drinks, the better for you.
