Know thyselt (Socrates).
Two short words that don’t mean anything serious to an ordinary being, yet powerful. When you understand these words, and live by them, the rest of the things will take care of themselves. Just like the African Proverb states, “When there is no enemy within, the enemy outside cannot do you any harm.”
“sometime back, when washnemuch deeper with social
media networking, a certain man sent me a friend request.
At that time, I used to accept friend requests anyhow because I wanted to introduce such people to social media networking and even marketing. When I accepted the friend request, the man then wrote a message wanting to know more about me, but it just so happened that I didn’t see that message until after a week had gone by. He had waited for a day for the reply after sending the message, but since I did not reply, he wrote another message saying I shouldn’t have accepted his request if I didn’t want to respond to his messages and he blocked me.
A week later when I saw the messages, I was shocked at how someone could get so upset, simply because a total stranger didn’t respond to their message. How can a total stranger, a person you have never even talked to, surely have power to make you upset?
Sadly that is the situation with most people. The first key to success is knowing yourself. Aristotle said “Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom”. When you know yourself better, accept and love yourselt, you will not be easily affected by things that you can’t control. You should stop caring what other people think and just be a person who YOU like. AND LOVE! When you do that, the right people will come to you. If someone doesn’t like you, It usually has more to do with them than with you. Denzel Washington said “Some people will never like you because your spirit irritates their demons.” Remember you are enough.
