Good evening Family.
How was your day?

So I will be talking on another form of replacement which is DENTURES🦷.

What Are Dentures?

Dentures are removable replacements for missing teeth and surrounding tissues.
They’re custom-made to fit your mouth comfortably and look as natural as possible.

There are two main types.
1. ACRYLIC AND FLEXIBLE DENTURE(TOPICS FOR ANOTHER TIME)

DENTURES CAN BE:
1️⃣ Partial Dentures:
●Used when you still have some natural teeth left.
●They fill in the spaces where teeth are missing and keep other teeth from shifting.

2️⃣ Complete Dentures:
👉 Used when all teeth in the upper or lower jaw are missing.
👉 They rest directly on the gums and replace a full set of teeth.

Benefits of Wearing Dentures:
✅ Improve chewing and speech
✅ Support your facial muscles (so your face doesn’t “sink in”)
✅ Boost confidence with a full, bright smile
✅ Easy to remove and clean

How to Care for Your Dentures:
1. Rinse after meals to remove food particles
2. Brush gently with a soft brush and a mild soap (not regular toothpaste)
3. Soak overnight in clean water
4. Handle with care to avoid dropping or breaking them
5. Visit your Dentist/dental therapist regularly for adjustments or relining

Remember:
Your dentures are your new smile partners, you should treat them with care and they’ll serve you well! 😍

If you need help choosing or adjusting dentures? Visit your Dentist/ dental therapist for personalized care and fit.

I will be talking on the best form of replacement next!
Stay tune!

Hi Family!
So someone here asked me to enlighten him on Dental Bridges.
Here's a post on it so everyone can learn from this!

Ever lost a tooth and wondered how to fill the gap?
A dental bridge might be your perfect solution!
Yes, we have different forms of tooth replacement but
Let’s Talk About Dental Bridges!

A bridge literally “bridges” the space where one or more teeth are missing.
A Dental Bridge is made up of:
1. A false tooth (pontic) that replace the missing one(tooth)
And 2. supporting teeth (abutments): the natural teeth beside the gap that hold the bridge in place.

A Dental bridge is needed:
✅ To restore your chewing and speaking ability
✅ To maintain your face shape and smile
✅ To prevent nearby teeth from shifting
✅ To bring back your confidence

Types of Dental Bridges: we have
1️⃣ Traditional Bridge: The most common type, supported by crowns on both sides.
2️⃣ Cantilever Bridge: Used when there’s only one supporting tooth beside the gap.
3️⃣ Maryland Bridge: Uses a metal or porcelain frame bonded behind nearby teeth.
4️⃣ Implant-supported Bridge: Fixed on dental implants instead of natural teeth.

How to care for you bridge:
Brush and floss daily (especially around the bridge area)

Use a floss threader or water flosser to clean under the bridge

Visit your Dentist/ Dental therapist regularly for checkups

A bridge doesn’t just fill a gap, it restores your bite, balance, and beautiful smile.

Keep your smile complete, strong, and confident!

What Happens When You Lose a Tooth and Don’t Replace It

Losing a tooth might seem harmless especially if it’s at the back where no one sees it but here’s the truth: a missing tooth affects your entire mouth!
What Happens When a Tooth Is Missing:

Tooth Drifting: The teeth beside the gap slowly move into the empty space, causing misalignment.

Opposite Tooth Overgrows: The tooth above or below the space starts to “grow out” because there’s no opposite tooth to balance it. we call it supra-eruption.

Bite Problems: Can cause difficulty in chewing and uneven pressure on your jaw.

Bone Loss: The jawbone under the missing tooth starts to shrink over time.

Facial Changes: Multiple missing teeth can make your cheeks look sunken or older.

Solutions:

Dental bridge

Partial denture

Dental implant (if available and affordable)

Don’t ignore a missing tooth, replace it early to protect your smile structure and confidence.
