🌍⚽️ Happy World Environment Day from the Samson Siasia Stadium in Bayelsa! 🏟️✨ Today, we're celebrating our beautiful planet and the ongoing “Heartbeat of Soccer” initiative, launched by the Joe Nwiloh Heart Foundation in partnership with the Nigerian Women Football League on May 25th, 2024.

Participants of the Super 6 tournament, including players, coaches, and administrators from Rivers Angels, Delta Queens, Edo Queens, Bayelsa Queens, Confluence Queens, and Robo Queens, received vital health screenings such as ECG tests, blood pressure checks, cholesterol, and fasting blood sugar tests. These screenings aim to detect potential substrates for lethal cardiac arrhythmias, which can lead to sudden cardiac arrest and death on the field.

Additionally, CPR training empowered all participants with the skills to help save a victim of cardiac arrest.

As we admire the pristine pitch here at Samson Siasia Stadium, we also want to thank the NWFL for providing such excellent conditions for the players. Let's remember that a healthy environment contributes to the health of our athletes. 🌱⚽ Let's keep our environment clean and green, and our hearts strong and healthy!

When every second counts, checking the pulse is vital to assess the effectiveness of CPR and determine the next steps in life-saving efforts.

Knowing how to check a pulse can save a life! It's essential for:

- Confirming a Heartbeat: Ensure the person isn’t in cardiac arrest.
- Monitoring CPR Effectiveness: See if chest compressions are working.
- Guiding Emergency Actions: Decide on the next steps, like using a defibrillator.
Stay prepared and make a difference!

Every second counts when a player collapses on the field. Recognizing the signs of cardiac arrest and knowing how to respond can save lives. Remember, no one is specifically tasked with this—before medical professionals arrive, teammates must begin CPR to save that life. Ensure your team is trained in CPR and knows how to use an AED. Be proactive, be prepared, and protect your players.
