EPISIOTOMY CARE: How to Heal Faster “Down There” After They Cut You During Delivery 😖✂️
Nobody prepares you for the pain you’ll feel when trying to sit, p*e, or even laugh after that cut “down there” 😩
If your doctor gave you an episiotomy during birth (that’s when they cut the perineum to help baby come out), healing can be slow and frustrating.
But with the right care, you’ll bounce back faster 💪🏽
Here’s how to take care of your episiotomy wound 👇
🔻 DO’s (Things That Help Healing)
✅ Use warm sitz baths daily (it soothes pain and keeps it clean)
✅ Wash gently with clean water — no harsh soap
✅ Air it out when possible — lie down without pant
✅ Use maternity pads — not regular ones
✅ Take pain relief (as prescribed!)
✅ Eat soft foods to avoid straining during poo 💩
✅ Rest well and drink lots of water 🥤
🔺 DON’Ts (Avoid These O!)
❌ Don’t scrub the area
❌ Don’t apply powder or ointments not prescribed
❌ Don’t do heavy lifting
❌ Don’t rush back to s£x — wait till your doctor gives green light
❌ Don’t ignore signs of infection (bad smell, pus, fever) 🚨
💥Your healing is just as important as your baby’s care. You deserve comfort, rest, and support while your body recovers.
💔 The pain might be silent, but you’re not alone.
👑 Mama, you went through fire to bring life — now it’s time to heal like the queen you are.
