African basil (scent leaf | Ocimum gratissimum) is a deeply aromatic herb rooted in West African kitchens and traditional wellness. It supports digestion, respiratory health, detoxification, and vitality, while its antimicrobial properties aid skin healing, acne care, dandruff control, and healthy hair growth.
Its refreshing aroma also calms the mind, eases stress, and supports mental clarity, making it a gentle ally for body, skin, and mood when used mindfully.

Internal Benefits (How to Use / Application):

β€’ Digestion & gut comfort β€” add fresh leaves to soups, stews, pepper soup, or herbal teas
β€’ Detox & blood sugar balance β€” use gently in warm infusions or meals
β€’ Immune & respiratory support β€” brew as tea or inhale steam for coughs and congestion

Skin & Hair Care (How to Use):

β€’ Acne, wounds & skin irritation β€” crush fresh leaves or use infused oil sparingly on affected areas
β€’ Scalp health & dandruff relief β€” boil leaves for a hair rinse or infuse in coconut/olive oil for scalp massage
β€’ Hair nourishment β€” supports growth, strength, softness, and shine

Mind & Mood (How to Use):

β€’ Calming & uplifting β€” inhale steam or diffuse the aroma to reduce stress and mental fatigue
β€’ Clarity & relaxation β€” enjoy as an evening tea or use as a kitchen aromatic
β€’ Rest & emotional ease β€” traditionally used in spiritual baths and home cleansing rituals

Used traditionally in food and home remedies. Use gently and in moderation.
Patch-test before external use. Avoid eyes and broken skin.

This journey keeps surprising me in small, quiet ways. It's amazing how the things we think we’ll miss the most quietly fall away when our bodies learn better.
Real food has a way of teaching you what actually serves you β€” without force, without guilt.
I used to love deli meats… now they taste strange to me.
Not in a dramatic way β€” just a gentle nudge from my body.
Healthy living changes more than habits; it changes desires and cravings.
I am grateful for how awareness grows with consistency, and how taste, preference, and desire can change when we listen closely.
Still learning. Still enjoying the process. πŸ’œ

If you love good food and intentional living, like and follow for wholesome meals, simple recipes, and everyday wellness tips.
I’ll see you in my next reel. Ciao πŸ’œπŸŒΏ
