hospital Lagos Nigeria
I was in Central Republic of Africa for a week free medical mission organized by Adonai missionary led by Dr Linus Ojukwu from the USA.
We went to a village called Samba outskirt of the capital city Bangui I was able to do 26 successful surgeries in an health centre there and I was nicknamed “The genius with the knife”.
So inbetween surgeries when the nurses were cleaning up a patient and the theatre I strolled to the back of the hospital and I met this young lad in the video below I don’t really know how to communicate with him because I don’t speak or understand French language on moving closer I realized he was picking something inbetween a fallen and dead palm tree,on moving closer to the handsome little boy he looked up and smiled at me not scared and went back to business,I decided to take a short video.
On closer look I realized he was carefully picking mushrooms from inbetween the stalks of the dead palm tree,he was now deliberately showing the stuff, it then reminded me of my growing up in the village in Nigeria and reminded me that it was survival of the fittest,we go to farm of a distance of about 7kilometers from home without fear of any evil and here we are more than five decades after.
It was fun and serious business operating on children and adults without hope of survival because they don’t even have money for registration card in hospital talk less of getting treated.
My gratitude to God for making me an instrument in His yard to help the needy and to ADONAI medical mission 2025 who invited me. You will hear from me soon after another mission
