“A Father Like That”

(Inspired by Luke 1:13–14)"Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard..." The angel spoke, and a father’s heart awakened. A son would be born. A legacy would begin. And joy would echo through generations.

We celebrate you today — A father who raised us. whose integrity of heart runs deep — Not performance, not pretense, But the kind of truth that doesn’t shift When no one is looking.

A father with an upright spirit, Not bowed by compromise, Not broken by the world’s opinions, But standing tall — Shoulders back, Faith intact.

He sees what others miss — That’s clarity of vision. Not just 20/20 sight, But purpose in every step, Hope beyond the now.

He moves with passionate character, Not afraid to feel, Not ashamed to care. Fire in his soul, Grace in his grip, Conviction in his core.

And oh, how he cares in everything— From the silent sacrifices To the loud laughs in the living room. From bedtime prayers to early morning toil. Caring isn’t a task — it’s his nature.

He’s a voice for the voiceless, A defender of the defenseless, Not just in his house — but in the world. He stands in the gap. He speaks when others stay silent. He shields when others look away.

He loves passionately, Without apology. He gives himself, again and again, Because love — real love — Is never halfway.

He’s fiercely loyal, Not just when it’s easy. Even when it’s quiet. Even when it costs. You can count on him — Because he’s counted the cost.

And when the world says “quit,” He doesn’t. He prays. He pushes. He never gives up. Because he knows — That’s what fathers do.

Like Zechariah — Your life is a joy. Your legacy is a delight. And many rejoice because of your birth… But even more — Because of your life.

So here’s to you: Man of truth. Man of strength, Father of nations, Man of vision, love, and fierce devotion.

Happy Father’s Day. We see you. We honour you. And we thank God — For a father like that.

We love you dearly ❤️

🩸Period Poverty in Jakande Estate: Time to Break the Silence and Take Action

In Jakande Estate, Lagos, many teenage girls are facing a crisis that is too often swept under the rug: period poverty.

Imagine being 13 and missing school every month simply because you can't afford menstrual pads. Imagine feeling ashamed, isolated, or even unsafe during your period. This is the daily reality for too many girls in our communities—and it has consequences beyond missed classes.

Period poverty doesn’t just affect education. It impacts self-esteem, mental health, and bodily autonomy. In areas like Jakande Estate, where poverty, misinformation, and gender-based violence intersect, the stakes are even higher. Some girls are forced into exploitative situations just to get basic sanitary supplies. Others are shamed into silence, never taught that their bodies are worthy of dignity and protection.

But tomorrow, we’re saying ENOUGH.

🌟 Join us for our monthly series  “Chosen and Whole ” – a fun, life-changing outreach for teenage girls in Jakande Estate!

We’re bringing education, empowerment, and dignity to the girls who need it most. Our outreach includes:

✔️ Free Dignity Kit filled with essentials for her monthly care

✔️ Interactive body-confidence and self-protection workshops

✔️ Talks on saying NO to r**e, abuse, and manipulation

✔️ Dance, games, and prizes—because learning should be fun!

✔️ Mentorship, Christian discipleship and support circles for ongoing care

✔️ Biblical teaching on identity, purity, courage, and calling

This is more than an event. It’s a movement. We are raising a generation of girls who can stand tall, speak up, and say YES to education, YES to confidence, and YES to their dreams.

We need you. If you are a parent, educator, advocate, or donor—get involved. Let’s end period poverty and protect our girls.

Together, we can turn pain into power. 💪🏽

Vision Accomplished - Departed 23rd December

We grew up in a "Rotary" home. We ate slept and drank Rotary . We all knew the 4 way test, the rules and the songs.
"It's a small world after all"  was our firm favourite .
Dad was our champion in all of this . He discovered Rotary later in his 50's and worked tirelessly for the rest of his life . His mantra - service above self .

He put his money where his action was and generously gave to the cause .
Many of us became Paul Harris Fellows thanks to him . ( You have to donate thousands of dollars to earn that coveted award).

My mum became an inner wheel member and together they worked to better the cause of the needy and oppressed.

Dad inevitably rose from a club member to the local chairman the District Governor and finally the Chairman of the International Rotary Polio Plus Committee.
His life's purpose was singular. Eradication of Polio in Nigeria.
He met and worked with National leaders in several nations however he remained humble and focused .
He travelled locally and internationally raising funds, networking organising immunization campaigns, settling disputes, raising awareness .

This was his burden and he carried it with a grace typical of a man with a mission and well into his winter years.

His  speed and effectiveness put men and women half his age to shame .
He spent many hours meeting with team members and often worked well into the night.

We learnt to tip toe around him when he would almost become despondent as despite the local and international efforts the  dream of a polio free Nigeria appeared impossible.

Yet dad you got up the next day and kept  pushing and pushing and pushing....almost in the end paying the ultimate price!!!

When you passed you said the only thing left for your full and accomplished life to be complete was the eradication of Polio in Nigeria.
We know you are smiling down from heaven today knowing your dream has come true .

We  honor you today PDG Adedehin Ebunolu Adefeso and all those who co- laboured with you in this venture. We are grateful for the enduring  legacy you have left behind.
We salute your heroism, steadfastness purity and single mindedness of purpose .
