If you picked C, you were right!
When an elderly person falls, your first priority is to assess their condition before moving them.
• Check if they are breathing and conscious.
• Look for visible injuries, bleeding, or signs of fracture.
• If they are seriously hurt or unconscious, call for emergency help immediately.
• Only move them if they are in immediate danger (e.g., unsafe location) whilst requesting assistance and it is safe for you to do so.
📌 Why this matters: Moving a person who has sustained an injury, especially an elderly person who is prone to osteoporosis, can worsen the damage. A calm and quick assessment helps ensure the right action is taken.
