As a Pregnant Student Midwife, ahh I would sit and wait for senior doctors (Consultants) to conduct ultrasound scans on me while teaching their students doctors.

Many pregnant women don’t like this, but I was so happy that my pregnancy was used as a case study.

If you registered in big hospitals like teaching, general or specialist hospitals you might experience this.

Don’t say No it’s actually a good way for you to understand your pregnancy.

I had placenta Previa type 2 in my second pregnancy.

That time i was in school, my doctor said it was due to stress. I fetched water myself, went to the market to buy things, went for classes everyday.

Took bus to hospital postings every day for 1 hour plus. If you know UNTH Enugu, you can tell the distance from town to the hospital.

Thank God everything was okay at the end.

POV: Try your best to reduce stress in your pregnancy, you might think you are okay, but complications come like a flash sometimes. Don’t lift heavy weights in your third trimester no matter the situation.

This is a Placenta
The only organ that is considered a waste product but extremely important during pregnancy.

The placenta, protect, nourishes, oxygenates and fight external forces for our baby in the womb.

But when the placenta is overpowered it becomes very weak and vulnerable.

Placenta previa and placenta Abruptio are the common complications in pregnancy caused by the placenta.

How To know if Your Baby has Turned Head Down
1. You will feel the baby kicks in your upper belly because their feet are now pointing upward

2. You will feel hiccups in your tummy near your lower belly.

3. You might feel more pressure or heaviness in your pelvis, or your lower abdomen.

4. Your chest will be free, and you will breath more easily. Plus heartburn might stop at this point.

5. Frequent urination because of the baby’s head resting on your bladder.

6. You will feel a hard mass below your abdomen. That’s the head of your baby down there.

You back, your hip, your waist and your legs will be very uncomfortable and painful now due to the pressure of the baby down in your pelvis.

One of The best Admissions I had This Year.

I was on night shift, by 3am we had a very loud knock on the door! Boom! a newborn baby boy was rushed in.

Trust us na, we started admitting the baby immediately. Started oxygen therapy, took vital signs, the doctor was already there . Before we know it, the baby was stable❤️

So this lady delivered her last baby in one of the biggest private hospitals in town, unfortunately she lost the baby due to poor intervention.

Then she got pregnant again, this time she went to her uncles hospital to deliver, after her C-section, the baby didn’t cry. History wanted to repeat itself.

According to her, she started screaming from her recovery bed “take him to teaching hospital”
, “take him to teaching hospital”.

They requested for immediate discharge from that hospital and came to our facility.

That was the 3am Knock we got. As I speak the boy will be 5 or 6 months by now.

POV: Bring them to us on time, scream and shout for discharge, let someone rush the baby to a bigger hospital near you. God is our ultimate healer, but he has given us the skills to Treat.
