What a powerful and unforgettable day for our community
We are proud to share the impact of our Free Children’s Dental Screening & Oral Health Promotion Outreach in Ago-Egun Community, Bariga, Lagos.
Because of your support, we were able to:
✨ 532 children receive oral health education
🪥 500 children receive toothbrushes and toothpaste
🦷 314 children receive dental screenings
💙 92 preventive treatments including tooth cleaning, fillings, and fluoride applications
For many of these children, this was their first-ever oral health screening.
This outreach was more than numbers. It was:
• Smiles
• Learning
• Relief
• Confidence
• Hope
We are deeply grateful to our volunteers, donors, partners, and the Ago-Egun community for trusting us and standing with us.
This is just the beginning.

Community partnership comes first

Ahead of our upcoming free children’s dental screening and oral health promotion outreach, the Smiles of Hope for Children Foundation (SHCF) team paid a courtesy visit to community leaders and families in Ago-Egun Community, Bariga, Lagos.

We were warmly received, and the conversations reaffirmed the importance of working with communities, not just in communities. Listening, engagement, and collaboration are essential to delivering programs that are respectful, culturally appropriate, and truly beneficial.

This visit marked an important step as we prepare to serve over 500 children with free oral health screening, education, and preventive support.

We are grateful to the community leaders and families for their welcome and trust. Together, we are building healthier smiles and brighter futures.

We are deeply thankful to Dr. Robert Schroth and the Healthy Smiles Happy Child team for the generous donations of 500 toothbrushes, toothpastes, dental floss, and fluoride vanish to support our upcoming free children’s dental outreach.
This generosity brings us one step closer to making oral health accessible to children who need it most.

Smiles of Hope for Children Foundation was founded by Dr. Olubukola Olatosi, a professor of pediatric dentistry, oral health researcher and clinician passionate about equity, prevention, and community-centered care.
This foundation was created to ensure that no child suffers from preventable oral disease simply because of where they are born.

WELCOME TO SMILES OF HOPE FOR CHILDREN FOUNDATION

We are excited to welcome you to the official page of Smiles of Hope for Children Foundation (SHCF), a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving children’s oral health and overall wellbeing through prevention, education, and community outreach.

Every child deserves a healthy smile. Yet, for many children in underserved communities, preventable oral diseases remain a daily challenge. At SHCF, we work to change this by providing free dental screenings, promoting early oral health education, and supporting families with the knowledge and tools needed to keep children smiling confidently.

We are proud to begin this journey with our first free children’s dental screening and oral health promotion outreach in Ago-Egun Community, Bariga, Lagos, where we aim to reach over 500 children.
