The demands of modern business usually necessitates long working hours, short deadlines with fewer resources.
This has resulted in an increase in unmanaged stress and related illnesses within the work place.A recent survey of 35 organizations by the non-profit Institute of Health and Productivity Management (IHPM) showed that psychological health conditions are the number one health-related reason for lost productivity in the workplace.
In the workplace, these psychological health problems are more likely to manifest in behaviors such nervousness, restlessness, or irritability. They could also present as physical complaints, such as a preoccupation with aches, pains, fatigue and troubled/ sleepless nights. These employees may become passive, withdrawn, aimless, and unproductive and it may result in exits from the organization without any apparent reason.
