Children, men, people in poor or rural areas, those who work near water, and anyone affected by floods are most at risk of drowning.

*Prevent drowning:*
• Learn to swim & teach your children 🏊‍♂️

• Always watch children near water – never leave them alone 👀

• Don’t drink alcohol when swimming or supervising children 🚫

• Check conditions before swimming 🌦️

• Use life jackets and safety equipment correctly 🦺

The State of the World’s Nursing 2025 report was published by WHO on 12 May, International Nurses Day. It gives the latest overview of the nursing workforce worldwide, by region and country.

*Important findings included:*

• The global nursing workforce has grown to 29.8 million 📈

• Shortages are expected to drop to 4.1 million by 2030 📉

• But big gaps remain between regions 🌍

• 78% of nurses work in countries that hold just 49% of the world’s population 📍

During this period, there has been a 40% improvement in infant survival. However, we still need to reach millions of children who’ve never had a single vaccine.

• babies from malaria & RSV 🍼
