A popular Nigerian singer, Sabi, the “Show Your Style” crooner, has been shot dead by gunmen in a Lagos State hotel.

The younger brother of the singer, Kingsley, made this known to the newspaper, adding that he was shot dead on Tuesday night.

The News was told by Kingsley that the artist was resident in the hotel when a group of young men reportedly stormed the premises and opened fire.

The Anambra State-born Sabi, whose real name is Sabinus Chukwuebuka Nelson Obi, rose to prominence in early 2010 as an Afro-pop act with a knack for catchy, danceable tunes, with: “Show Your Style,” a track that gained popularity within Nigeria’s Afro-pop scene and later earned a remix featuring Oritse Femi.

Popular gospel singer and Nollywood soundtrack artiste, Onos Brisibi, has died at the age of 55.

Her family confirmed her death in a statement released on Thursday, revealing that she passed away on March 23, 2026, after a prolonged illness.

In the statement, the Brisibi family described the late singer as a devoted Christian who used her music to inspire and uplift many.

“The Brisibi family announces with deep sorrow the passing of Esteemed Sister Onos Nancy Brisibi, who transitioned to glory on 23rd March 2026 after a protracted illness,” the statement read.

The family also paid tribute to her personality and contributions to gospel music.

The statement added, “Onos Nancy Brisibi was a devoted Christian, a gifted songstress, and a passionate praise and worship leader whose angelic voice touched many lives as she spread the gospel through music.

“She will be remembered as a beautiful, fun-loving woman with a heart of gold, whose faith, warmth, and kindness left lasting impressions on all who knew her.”

The family said details of her funeral and burial arrangements would be announced later.

She is survived by her daughter, Sarah Brisibi, her mother, siblings, extended family members, friends and her church family at LoveWorld Ministries.

News of her death has triggered reactions from members of the Nigerian entertainment industry.

Actress Stella Damasus expressed grief over the loss, saying the singer’s death “hurts” and praying for her peaceful rest.

Veteran broadcaster, Emma Ugolee, also described the development as “devastating.”

According to him, he had only just received news of her critical condition while preparing a tribute to celebrate her contributions to the industry.

Born on November 20, 1970, in Aladja, Delta State, to Ambrose Oproze and Mary Koko Brisibi, the late singer began her music career at the age of nine.

She later became one of Nollywood’s most sought-after soundtrack artistes, lending her voice to several popular films, including Domitilla, Mortal Inheritance, Deadly Passion, Blood Money, Deadly End, and Shame.

Her distinctive vocals also featured on the hit song Gra Gra by Lagbaja.

"My Husband Said I Was Sleepping With Many Men Due To My Curve And My Beauty"- Ronke Odusanya Disclose The Reason Why Her Husband Denied Her Daughter And Asked For DNA

In a video that was posted on a popular social media platform

In her statement, she said, "As an actress, one could be in love with a man who is not really in love with film making which usually makes things difficult.👀👀👀 It is not always easy for men that marry actresses because we usually have a lot of male admirers. I went out with my husband, and a man came to me and said he loves me and my movies, my husband was just standing looking at us because he wasn't happy.😁😁😁 There was a day that I went to buy something with my husband, and the man told me not to pay for it, my husband then accused me of exchanging my phone number with him.😩😩😩 My husband said I was sleeping with another man due to my curves and my beauty. There is no way an actress can manage her marriage and her family with film making without any problems with the husband.

THE BIOGRAPHY OF CHUCK NORRIS

Carlos Ray “Chuck” Norris was born on March 10, 1940, in Ryan, Oklahoma. His father, Ray Norris, was a World War II veteran who drove trucks and drank too much. His mother, Wilma, wore herself down raising Chuck and his two younger brothers on almost nothing after Ray left.

Chuck was not the kind of boy people paid attention to.

He was painfully shy. Quiet in school. Not athletic. He tried football in high school and mostly stayed on the bench. There were no scouts watching. No grand ambitions. Just a boy from a broken home trying not to be seen.

Then in 1958, the Air Force sent him to Korea.

He was 18. Lost. Unsure of himself. Far from home in a country he had barely known existed a year before. At Osan Air Base in South Korea, Chuck watched local men training in Tang Soo Do for the first time. Something in him came alive. It was not only the discipline. Not only the fighting. It was something deeper. A glimpse of the person he might become.

He earned one black belt. Then another. Then another.

He returned home in 1962 as an Airman First Class, carrying a sense of purpose he had never known before. He applied for a police job in Torrance, California. While waiting for an answer, he opened a small martial arts school to make ends meet.

That little school changed everything.

Bruce Lee came through the door. Then Steve McQueen. Then Hollywood came calling.

But in 1970, life broke him in a way no opponent ever could.

His younger brother Wieland was killed in Vietnam. Chuck was 30. He almost never spoke about it in public. He carried that grief quietly, the way men of his generation were taught to carry pain. But those close to him said it never truly left. You could see it in the roles he returned to again and again. Soldiers. Rescuers. Men trying to bring someone home after everyone else had stopped hoping.

His faith carried him through it.

Not the loud kind. Not the performative kind. The quiet kind. The kind that gets you out of bed when there is no clear reason to rise. Chuck spoke about God the same way he spoke about his brother. Gently. Honestly. Without any trace of pretence.

By the late 1970s, he was leading action films that made him a household name. Missing in Action. Delta Force. Walker, Texas Ranger ran for eight straight years and turned him into an international icon. Black Belt magazine awarded him a 10th degree black belt, the highest honour in the martial arts world. He created his own discipline, Chun K*k Do, and the United Fighting Arts Federation has awarded more than 3,300 black belts around the world.

In 2005, the internet turned him into a legend of a different kind.

Chuck Norris Facts spread everywhere. He had not created them. But he embraced them with the same small grin he had carried since Korea. He published his own book of favourites. He went on talk shows and laughed at himself. A man who had lived through real sorrow somehow became the world’s favourite symbol of invincibility.

Ten days before he died, he posted a video of himself sparring with a trainer in Hawaii. He was 86 years old. Smiling. Punching. Alive. He wrote, “I don’t age. I level up.”

On March 19, 2026, Chuck Norris died suddenly in Hawaii, surrounded by his family and at peace.

He is survived by five children. And by a legacy that reaches across martial arts, film, faith, and the kind of quiet grief only those who have truly loved and lost can understand.

From a shy, fatherless boy in Oklahoma to a global legend. From a bench-warmer no one noticed to a name known around the world.

He did not level up by chance.

He levelled up because he never stopped getting back up.

POLICE IN LAGOS STATE CONFIRM A GOSPEL ARTISTE, THREE OTHERS DEAD IN A RECORDING STUDIO IN AJAH

A gospel artiste, Matthew Ogundele, and three of his crew members have been found dead inside a music studio in the Abraham Adesanya area of Ajah, Lagos State.

The crew members were identified as Itunu Ogundele, Joseph Sanya, and a blogger, Matthew Awosanya, otherwise known as JoesTv.

Sunday reports gathered that the victims were invited to perform on Tuesday, which was the second day of a three-day birthday praise organised by another female gospel artiste, Olanireti Akinbola.

A police source, who spoke to Newsmen on Saturday, said the crew finished late and decided to sleep over in the studio, where their remains were later found the following day, Wednesday.

“The convener invited some gospel artistes to minister during her three-day birthday praise, which started on Monday. Segun Praise was scheduled to minister on the second day, and he came with his crew. The session started in the evening and ran late, so they decided to stay overnight in the studio. It was the following morning that we heard that their lifeless bodies were found in the studio,” the source disclosed.

A Christian blog, Omojesu, in a Facebook post seen on Saturday, stated that the deceased could not return home due to the distance.

“In pursuit of a better life, a blogger known as JoesMediaTv and three musicians were reportedly invited to perform at a virtual birthday praise event at a studio around Ajah. Due to the distance of the studio from their homes, they decided to stay overnight at the location. Allegedly, they all passed away in their sleep,” the post read.

Sunday PUNCH further gathered that the case was reported at the Ajiwe Police Station, Ajah.

“The corpses were taken to the Mainland Hospital, Yaba, where a medical doctor on duty confirmed them dead. The bodies were later deposited at the Mainland General Hospital mortuary, Yaba, for autopsy and preservation,” she added.

Adebisi noted that the case had since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba, for further investigation.

ACTRESS IYABO OJO TO LIZ ANJONRIN: She is not normal. She is not the same Liz that used to dance and sell her products. I don't know where her trouble started from. The only thing I can do at this stage of her madness is to pray for her. She mentions my name at every little thing. As she is cursing me, I am progressing and my children are making it so why should I be angry? My fans should please ignore her. She really needs help. It is unfortunate that she is married to a man that is not learned

He should have taken her to a mental home or maybe he just doesn't care. She said I cursEd her child but I never did that. I don't wish her child evil. God will bless and give her child wisdom. I love children so much. She drags me every time because it is my name that makes her relevant. This is 2026, all I want to do is to make money. I don't have her time. She is delusional. If they don't take her for medical treatment, she is not going to stop and I really feel so bad for her. She is so stressed out. SHE NEEDS HELP
