Male hypergamy is very common these days. We always focus our lenses on the women alone.

Some men immediately they make money want to go after "higher women". Some will want younger women and abandon the ones who were there with them from day one.

Some will choose to add to the one they already have.

The fault is on both sides, male and female.

Women want to be with those that have but men also think they aren't loved except they are rich.

Why? Cos our world has monetised value.

You see black athletes, the moment they make money, they want white girls cos this makes them feel they have value for their money.

Without money, they have low self-esteem.

We respect those that are rich no matter the age and disrespect those who aren't, no matter the age or knowledge.

Money is important but it isn't everything. A man's life is not in the abundance of things he owns.

This mentality is why young men are killing themselves to make money.

Get rich or die trying, they say.

But life is bigger than money. It is good to have money but let it not be your sole purpose in life.

You see fools like this, avoid them. These are the ones that think women should remain in the kitchen. These ones will d...

You see fools like this, avoid them.

These are the ones that think women should remain in the kitchen.

These ones will demand s*x for jobs or should I say JOB for jobs?

Don't be deceived, as you can see these ones re even wearing suits. Avoid this kind of people, they will kill your dreams and maybe take your life too.

It is better to get to the top unmarried than marry these fools.

As far as they are concerned, a woman is nothing but a tool.

As someone with many sisters, female cousins and nieces who are working day and night towards greatness and with my very hardworking and award winning mother, I see it as a personal insult wen hardworking women are insulted.

Atiku, Ayu, Suswam Vs Wike, Ortom, Utaan

Ayu means mermaid, Suswam is a grass that is like a double edged sword. Nicknamed "the black cat."

Ortom means workman. Nicknamed "inyam kyume" meaning dangerous animal. Utaan means five? I'm not sure.

If Suwam doesn't emerge as the national chairman, I see the possibility of a new party.

Atiku will never allow Utaan become the national chairman of PDP after wat he did to Ayu. King slayers rarely become Kings.

In Benue, APC now has a chairman who can attend only meetings in Abuja but not in Benue and another one who can attend in Benue but not Abuja.

The Tiv man is making waves once more on the political space. But his dexterity, wisdom and strength is only seen when he fights his fellow brother to a stand still.

The Tiv man has a near or****ic feeling when he brings own his own.

Why A students become lecturers and C students form the government.

Sometimes when I see our veterans who served this country with their life complain at newspaper stand why their pensions are withheld, I pity them. But most times don't.

They are all reaping the fruit of their inaction like plato once said. Our veteran's hatred for politics and its stigmatisation led to the worst among them going into politics.

It is too bad that this has lingered till day. Our parents keep telling the good students to stay clear of students. Once a student indicates little interest in politics he is quarantined into a group of unserious students.

This gives way for those whose main reason of getting involved in politics is to be like their political mentors who don't really care about any of us.

Once they place their feet on that elevator, their godfathers pull them up. Politics is not for the unserious people.

When Obasanjo spoke about democracy, everyone thought it was cruise. The civil servants didn't want to retire from their white colar jobs cause it was risky. Some years before, Shagari conducted an election that was annulled. They allowed the unionists who were after all unserious students in school to contest. The unserious unionists we have now.

No one took them serious and they had nothing to loose. That is why you keep hearing of certificate issues among this career politicians. The class of 1999 have recycled political offices like their boys are doing right now.

The career unionist never run out of offices to hold. But they don't care, why? Cos no one cares and they don't care too.

But the society has continued to tell the best minds to remain within their shell like a paraplegic tortoise. Do not over dream, they keep whispering in our ears. The best minds that decide to attempt unionism are brought to a stand still.

"Why border, you have a secured future, become a good lawyer or architect or like me a very comfortable civil servant" this is what the parents of potential great leaders tell them. But they tell us that the politician is the reason we can't resume to school on time because they haven't paid salaries.

Irony.

The best minds will eventually stick to their dreams, finish and japa to America. They will go and meet the mentor you forced on them. They will treat Ben Carson as neurosurgeons when he becomes aged. They will not be here in Nigeria when you need them. And the unserious students you warned them not to become like will become governors and won't pay your pension.

It's a rabbit hole because our minds need to be transformed. The civil servant life was designed to keep the African just enough to work for his colonial masters.

Let children grow with their dreams. May be the guy you so wanted to become a Reverend father was a politician. The gifts you saw in him was from your mind. The doctor you saw was going to become like Ben Carson who after fulfilling his dreams decided to go into politics because everything rises and falls on politics, leadership.

If he can operate the brain with his hands he can operate policies with his mind. Maybe your girls path won't be same but the destination similar. She may have to go into unionism as a medical student, become a doctor, then the minister of health who will formulate policies that will make Nigeria malaria free. Let the children breathe.

The question you should be asking them now is can they handle it? How are they doing? Help them grow.

You see Beta Idu, her parents deliberately helped her fulfil her dreams. She wanted Public Health, her parents gave her the best, look at what she was able to achieve in a short a period of time.

Though she messed up, but you get it.

I'm sorry if I sounded rude, I'm not reading what I am writing now, I will come back and read it later.

But I meant not offence.

Thank you for your time.

Love yours

One of my best songs ever. It is a song abt contentment. The truth is that there’s always going to be someone doing better than you in one way or the other.

There’s always going to be someone richer than you, smarter than you, more handsome or more beautiful than you.

There’s always going to be a lady more beautiful than your woman, there’s always going to be a guy more handsome and richer than your guy.

Elon Musk may be the richest man alive but he may not be the most handsome, happiest or most peaceful.

The truth is that Godliness and contentment is true gain.

You have to be contented to be happy. You have to love yours to be happy.

You have a pair of shoes? Rock it boldly and take care of it.

You are using infinix of 2014? Be proud of what you have, keep the bird in hand well as you look for the other in the bush.

You see the men you are admiring today and want to kill your self if u are not like them tomorrow, they were worse wen they were your age.

Don’t let peer pressure make you think you are a failure by comparing yourself to others. Instead compare your self with yourself.

Your partner may not be the best judging by the stands of your friends. She may not be all b***y with figure 8. He may not be all classy with Camry 2008, but is he working hard? Does he love you and does he have a vision?

After all

Niger vs Nigeria

Africa has continued to dance to the beats of the United States and the West. The military coups happening across Africa, the war in Sudan, insurgency and even election manipulation can be traced to the west.

There's a scramble for Africa and a recolonisation going on in broad day light.

To address these challenges, African nations must reevaluate their values and strengthen their institutions. Gone were the days soldiers were hungry for power. Soldiers these days are more concerned with raising families and living nor.al lives but the corruption, nepotism, money laundering of the politicians always drag the books back into presidential villas.

It is a public display of hypocrisy when ECOWAS or the African Union turn blind eyes to nation leaders that kill and kill in order to remain in office but Co.e out with speakers to "condemn in strong terms" the military coups in these countries.

Addressing coups without treatment of the pathology is like taking paracetamol for malaria. It relieves only the symptoms.

Also, Africa itself is confused. I just watched a statement of the AU led by the president of South Africa issuing a 15 days ultimatum to the Barack boys of Niger. The ECOWAS hurriedly came out to issue a 7 days ultimatum. This shows a dichotomy of ideas and leaves a lacuna for Niger.
Niger can choose not to listen to ECOWAS, instead listening to AU.

Beyond this, it shows how ununited the African continent is. Normally, the ECOWAS is the one overseeing the nations of West Africa and South African led AU was not suppose to make a statement first.

On a final note, Nigeria should trade carefully. This is where I call on all well meaning Nigerians and Africans in general to pray for this continent.

If things are not handled properly, Nigeria will be lured into a proxy war. The United States under Biden has shown so far that its military strength lies in the media. If they want to restore democracy in Niger, they can send their troops because our military is overstretched already.

The economic sanctions are enough. Trust me, this is bigger than we are seeing. Remember when Putin warned the US to stay away from Ukraine or he will take their priced asset them?

Africa is the price assets.

With France at the verge of an economic collapse, Niger their primary supply of Uranium has been stollen from them.

This comes barely a week after the Russia-Africa summit. Trust me, Nigeria doesn't want to be involved.

Some of us are already making statements that the Nigerian military is 10 X that of Niger. That is true but again, have it in mind that the Nigerien junta has won the hearts of its people. We do not want to make enemies with our neighbours.

Interesting days ahead and West Africa is sitting on a time bomb.

Don't envy!

• Someone graduated at the age of 22, but waited 5 years before securing a good job.

• Someone became a CEO at 25, and died at 50.

• While another became a CEO at 50, and lived to 90 years.

• Someone is still single, while someone from his school group has become grandfather.

• Obama retired at 55 & Trump started at 70.

• Everyone in this world works based on their time zone.

• People around you might seem ahead of you & some might seem to be behind you.

• But everyone is running their own race, in their own time.

• Do not envy them.

• They are in their time zone, and you are in yours.

So, relax.

You're not late.
You're not early.
You are very much on time.

We will eventually miss Buhari

"God forbid!" I know that's what you just said. I understand, we live in a society that tells us that waving your hand around your head in a magical semicircle and snapping your finger can make things just go away. Well sorry to dissapoint you, fasten your seat belts for a ride.

I really don't blame most of us who haven't come to terms with reality. Most of us spend time talking about Banky and Davido and how their baldness makes them cheats and fail to look at economics.

I also don't blame anybody because there is no political economy in Nigeria. Nigerian political parties are just a collection of people who have similar strategies of embezzlement or similar enemies. If there was a political economy in this country, Tinubu and Buhari won't be in the same political party.

In the Western world, political parties are formed base on ideologies not as rebel groups against those that are eating alone.

Why will you all miss Buhari?

Besides his inability to tackle insecurity and his lopsided appointments, Buhari tried.

Is it infrastructure? He did well.

Is it empowerment? He tried.

Is it economy? 🤔. .... well he did well.

Before you bring out the WTO or World Bank indices, let me make something very clear to you all, Tinubu is going to give you that. He will grow the economy but the poor people will growl.

As Farooq Kperogi wrote concerning the economic decisions of Tinubu so far in his column this week "I don’t see how this will end well. What shall it profit a country when it pursues policies that cause the economy to “grow” but causes the people to growl? After the economy has “grown” but the people still groan, where is the growth? The most important growth isn't the rise in abstract, disembodied, World Bank/IMF-created metrics but in the improvement of the quality of life of everyday folks."

The GDP grew by 0.11111% by Q1? Tinubu will give you that but do you know what else he is going to give you?

Tinubu is going to wipe out the middle class. The poor will suffer. You remember when he said you should let the poor breathe? He said that because very soon that's due only thing the poor can access for free.

The 7% tax on diesel will soon be implemented amongst the removal of subsidy. You may not have felt PMS subsidy removal but this is going to hit hard.

Let me remind you that factories and vehicles transporting foodstuff run on diesel.

Buhari is a typical socialist and flip the coin, you will see Tinubu on the opposite side. Tinubu is a capitalist. Buhari borrowed to sustain the economy, we were literally borrowing to pay salaries. And that was bad debt but we needed to do it. Tinubu won't do that. He is going to tax everyone. The government will make money and I pray that money is used for our benefit.

Buhari gave loans to small and medium scale enterprises. Don't act dumb as if you weren't aware. The Covid 19 loan you got and used it to buy iPhone was meant for business bruh.

Tinubu won't do that. He will instead make it easier for the wealthy to make wealth hoping that they will employ the common man.

Tinubu will bring in a lot of foreign investments. One of the ways he is doing this is the removal of restriction on dollar trading. Floating the naira. Foreign investors love this a lot. Those people going to study abroad don't.

Buhari was forcing the dollar to trade at about 400 naira official rate. This isn't good for business.

What is my suggestion?

I am a medical student not an economist.

Fasten your seat belt brothers for the tax collector is here.

Thank you for reading to the end.

I am a medical student not an economist but in my little way of seeing things, I think it will be best to own a business now. Not all businesses will be lucrative now though. Those that need less power and workers will make more sense.

AFRICA AND ITS PLAN FOR FAILURE.

Its a very popular saying that by failing to plan, you are planning to fail, no one disputes this because the antidote for failure is good planning and effectively carrying out the plans.

But what happens when a group of people sit down and deliberately plan to fail? Like they hold a meeting with items on the agenda, say an opening prayer and deliberate on how best they can fail?

Sounds absurd right?

Well that's what our leaders in Africa do. And not just them, most of us are like them. We are like the pig that was cursed never to look up. We fail to think into the future and beyond ourselves. This has reflected itself in a lot of ways.

Prominent in this is the citation of critical infrastructure, industries and projects. For example, in the developmentally conscious world, the government creates cities. Theyake layouts, construct the roads, drainage and electricity. They plan the houses and location of churches, malls, hospitals and schools before people begin to buy those places and build. In the US major intracity roads are constructed as military grade. What this means is that they ask themselves that in the setting of war can this roads carry our military thanks?
This has a very important advantage, saving of costs.

In this country, we allow people to inhabit a place, then we come to buy them out. We allow people to site churches next to schools and hospitals and nursery schools opposite a market. Then a government comes later and tell the people to move out and try to compensate them. The cost is usually higher.
And the risk of having different buildings for different purposes next to each other is unfathomable.

In Nigeria for example, the second Niger bridge that has just been constructed is a good project but it's a product of myopia. For a country that is talking about exportation and growth of economy, the bridge is too low and the sea port may have to be cited somewhere else because the ships will not be able to pass there. The bridge also lacks a rail line.

In Benue State, the citation of Taraku mills contributed to it's early demise. I don't know what motivated it's citation there, maybe the availability of the raw materials but the scarcity of water was a sure reason for it's collapse. The machines needed to run such an industry need water and the river Benue would have been a better and cheaper source than tankers, considering the fact that water is still an issue at Taraku.

Here in Makurdi, the industries like Benue Brewery, Nigerian Brewery, Solive oil and Miva rice are cited right at the bank of the Benue river, well that's a good one but it's not good enough because it creates another problem. The Benue State water board is cited down the stream.

What this means is that all the waste materials from this factories that are dumped into the river are taken up by the water hoses from the water board, causing clogging and spoilage of the water filters incurring more cost.

Another instance is in the construction of classrooms at the teaching hospital. The initial quota was for 50 medical students. The builders should have known that a time will come when the quota will be increased to 75 or even 100 students and should have had that vision in mind and hence constructed suitable classrooms to accommodate that number.

I can go on and on but the take home is that as a people we must learn to think beyond ourselves. We must learn to project into the future. In chosing our leaders, citing of projects we must focus on the vision and not our personal gains.

Africa can be great again.

YOUR ALMA MATER MATTERS

The choice of school for your children is very important in the scheme of things. It plays a role in their success, the opportunities they access and the people they associate with.

I am not saying one must go to specific schools before he makes it but the truth is that there are institutions that give your children leverage.

If you can afford it, send your child to the choice schools.

This is one of the success secrets of the Ibos. If you want to access the life of an Ibo man check his food, the clothe and car of his wife, his house in the village and the schools for his children.

I have a friend that left Nigeria to school abroad. His father is a trader, not that rich if you compare him viz a viz with other Tiv men around but he struggled that his son should go abroad. His seat mate was the daughter to the president of Tanzania. That's connection.

I also know of a guy that his mum spent all she had and sent him to American University of Nigeria. The first tuition she paid was the last because this guy met the son of one of the northern senators who has taken him as family and the last time I asked he was on internship at silicon valley.

The rich know this. They know that connection and association is key. That's why they hardly send their children to some schools. They want their children to meet people that are more than them and create bonds that last and help.

That's why we keep hearing that the son of this person married the daughter of this person. Some of the marriages are arranged but most times these children meet at places where they can meet. The son of Dangote can not meet the daughter of Otedola at Mkar(apologies). They will meet at one of those their reunions that they organize in Dubai. They will meet at a convocation in London.

Speaking of London, In UK, out of the 57 prime ministers they have had, 30 were educated at Oxford university.

In Nigeria, Barewa college has produced the most prominent northerners. From Amedu Bello to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa. Yakubu Gowon, Murtala Mohammed, Shehu Shagari, Umaru Musa Yar'adua to El Rufai, the list is too long to exhaust.

In the US, out of the 8 supreme court judges appointed, 4 are from Harvard law school and 3 from Yale. In fact Timothy R. Johnson, a professor of political science and law at the University of Minnesota, says a degree from a top law school has traditionally made it easier for a nominee to get through the Supreme Court confirmation process, though nowadays a justice's political ideology may be just as important a factor in the process as their academic credentials.

When Ngozi Okonjo Iweala was running for the Director of WTO, her Harvard degree came in handy when her CV was presented. These institutions pride themselves in the achievements of their products and they stop at nothing to see them get to the top.

In Benue, there are also notable schools such as Makurdi International school, Tiny tots, Nativity, Glory nursery and primary school, aunty Ayam, Laurel, Mount Saint Gabriel, Bristol, Mount Saint Micheal, Queen of the Rosary, federal government girls college etc. These schools have produced several graduates that are in key positions in the state and nation. There are several times that the fact that I am a Gabrielite has opened doors for me.

There are other schools that are coming up too but it will take them time to be at the level some other schools have are. And if you have not attended an Ivy league primary or secondary school,it doesn't make it impossible for you to make it.
You can start by being great and helping your mates as you go along.

The bottom line today is if you are a parent, see the education of your child as an investment and if you can afford it, send them to the best schools money can pay.

Thank you

Refocus your energy where it matters.

I use to think most people are not aware of what incompetence is that's why they keep supporting their slave masters that call themselves politicians but I realized that I was wrong

Just look at the way we support football clubs and call for the substitution of players and sacking of coaches when they don't do well.

See as people ask for the benching of C. Ronaldo despite his past records but this same guys go back and vote for the person that has impoverished them.

When Ighalo was a United player, I didn't hear people seeking for his play even though he was a Nigerian because they all knew he was incompetent. But this guys will turn around and wish a politician to continue because he is from the same zone, state, tribe or religion with them.

Football clubs are over there in Europe (most are)their winning or loosing has nothing to do with us over here(except of course u play bet but again I doubt how much you have been winning that your life hasn't changed). But you follow them like mad.

You run to watch football match but you can't wait to get voter's card. You know every player that's playing for your team and when they are playing but you have no idea what's happening in government, who is representing you at the state and national level and those aspiring to lead you.

You pay your tax to these guys but cant hold them accountable. They share your nation's resources and yet you turn a blind eye to it.

Why not chanel that energy you put into football clubs into your country, your futurit
