Stop. ⚠️
Not every pain needs prednisolone.
I see it too often, a simple body ache, mild joint pain, even minor inflammation… and the first choice is a corticosteroid.
Yes, it works. Yes, the pain reduces fast. But speed is not the same as safety.
Prednisolone is not an ordinary painkiller. It’s a corticosteroid — a drug that alters immune response, hormone balance, and inflammatory pathways in the body. It’s meant for serious conditions like autoimmune disorders, severe allergies, asthma exacerbations, and other inflammatory diseases.
Using it for what a drug like diclofenac could handle? That’s using a sledgehammer to crack a nut.
And here’s the part many ignore:
The side effects are real — immune suppression, blood sugar elevation, hormonal disruption, weight gain, mood changes, stomach irritation, and more.
These are risks you likely wouldn’t face with a properly indicated NSAID.
Prednisolone is not a casual OTC option.
It requires proper evaluation, correct dosing, and careful monitoring.
Before you self-medicate, ask yourself:
Is this necessary… or just convenient?
