Good evening friends, family, colleagues and associates.
It is with great sense of joy and gratitude to God and to you, my beloved people who have been a source of inspiration and support in the course of this journey that I introduce to you ‘Medix Hospital Ltd ‘.
Our dear country is faced with numerous challenges across various sectors, with the health sector having its fair share of problems including but not limited to worsening brain drain buoyed by factors such as poor renumeration, insecurity and hostile working environments amongst others. Outbound medical tourism by the political class has not helped matters.
The effect of this is that fewer doctors and other health professionals are left to cater to the needs of millions of Nigerians with a disproportionate doctor to patient ratio in the range of 1 doctor: 10 000 patients far exceeding the WHO recommendation. Our facilities are overwhelmed, our health personnel overworked.
Challenged by this and driven by our care for you our fellow Nigerians, we at MEDIX HOSPITAL LTD have set out to contribute our quota in changing the narrative. In the long term, it is our dream to reverse medical tourism; when we will witness the inflow of foreigners in to our country seeking for medical care. We hope to mitigate the brain drain as we develop our capacity to cater adequately to the welfare of health professionals working at our facilities in terms of better remuneration and better working conditions. We also hope to one day, partner with government in training more health professionals to meet the ever growing need for specialists in the country.
Though, our beginning is small/humble and the challenges that lies ahead of us is enormous, we believe in the reality of our dreams. Aliko Dangote has proven to us that no dream is too lofty to attain, with his feat in the oil sector ending Nigeria’s dependence on imported refined petroleum products. Wizkid, Burna boy, 2Baba etc have continued to raise our flag in the entertainment sector at the global stage. It’s also possible to replicate same success in the health sector, if and only if, we rise to say “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH “ and that is what Medix Hospital Ltd is here to do.
As we continue to build an excellent team and pray to God for his abundance grace, we look forward to you, our beloved, for your continuous support and encouragement on this journey to build a vibrant and thriving health sector.
At the moment, Medix Hospital Ltd. is taking its baby steps and is at phase one: Diagnostic phase comprising of out patient clinic, laboratory and ultrasound services. We are located at No 26 Benue crescent Wadata, Makurdi ( Hasin Hasina Plaza), Benue State.
