SIGNS OF IRON DEFICIENCY IN HUMAN
Low iron, or iron deficiency, happens when your body doesn't have enough iron to produce hemoglobin, a protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen. Here's how it works:
1. *Iron intake*: You get iron from food or supplements.
2. *Absorption*: Iron gets absorbed in the small intestine.
3. *Transport*: Iron is transported to the bone marrow.
4. *Hemoglobin production*: Iron is used to make hemoglobin.
5. *Oxygen delivery*: Hemoglobin carries oxygen to cells.
If you don't have enough iron, your body can't make enough hemoglobin, leading to fatigue, weakness, and other symptoms.
