The Honourable Commissioner for the Niger State Ministry of Primary Health Care (NSMPHC), Dr. Ibrahim Ahmed Dangana, has carried out an inspection visit to the Mayaki Ndajiya Primary Health Care Centre as part of ongoing efforts to assess healthcare delivery across the state.

During the inspection, Dr. Dangana commended the dedication of the health workers at the facility while identifying areas that require urgent intervention to improve service delivery. He emphasized that the administration of Farmer Governor Umar Mohammed Bago remains steadfast in its commitment to strengthening the Primary Health Care (PHC) system, ensuring that citizens, particularly those in rural communities; have access to quality and affordable healthcare services.

The Honourable Commissioner, NSMPHC, Dr. Ibrahim Ahmed Dangana, held a strategic meeting with the All Progressives Congress (APC) Ward and Local Government Executives of Umaru Majigi ‘B’ Ward.

The engagement focused on strengthening the Party’s structures, consolidating its current momentum, and mapping out a winning strategy ahead of the forthcoming Local Government elections. The HC NSMPHC Dr Ibrahim Ahmed Dangana made the remarks at the commissioning of the first 20 level II PHCs among the 100 that will be built by His Excellency Farmer Governor Mohammed Umar Bago.

"We can thank His Excellency Farmer Governor for his tireless efforts, his guidance, and the political will to muster the resources needed for the construction of the project" Dr Dangana stated.

He said the facility apart from the healthcare services provision will also enhance the capacity and skills of the students from the School of Health Technology, School of Nursing, and Midwifery that will be sent to the facilities for training.

The Executive Director of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) in his remark expressed satisfaction with the project.

His Excellency Farmer Governor Mohammed Umar Bago in his speech highlights several progress being made so far and several projects that are being put in place to ensure qualitative, affordable, and accessible PHC in the state.

HC NSMPHC DR IBRAHIM AHMED DANGANA IN ATTENDANCE AS NIGER STATE PARTNERS WITH ARAB CONTRACTORS MEDICAL CENTRE, CAIRO, TO STRENGTHEN HEALTHCARE SERVICES AND CAPACITY BUILDING.

The Niger State Government has signed a partnership agreement with the Arab Contractors Medical Centre in Cairo, Egypt. The partnership focuses on improving access to advanced medical treatment and building the capacity of healthcare professionals in the state.

A delegation from Niger State, comprising the Commissioner for Primary Healthcare, Dr. Ibrahim Dangana, his counterpart for Secondary and Tertiary Healthcare, Dr. Tukur Bello, Special Adviser on Special Duties, Dr. Murtala Muhammad Bagana, Special Adviser on Health, Dr. Shehu Ahmed, Chief Medical Director of IBB Specialist Hospital, Dr. Bala Waziri, recently concluded a week-long working visit to Cairo.

During the visit, the delegation engaged in meetings and negotiations with officials of the Arab Contractors Medical Centre.

The partnership agreement, has two interesting benefits:

1. Residents of Niger State—and Nigerians at large—will now have access to high-quality, specialized treatment at the Arab Contractors Medical Centre at discounted rates. Patients can access these services through a formal referral mechanism facilitated by the Niger State Government, ensuring streamlined and affordable access to advanced care.

2. The agreement also includes structured training programmes for Niger State’s healthcare professionals at the Cairo-based medical centre. These programmes will expose local practitioners to state-of-the-art medical technologies, modern treatment protocols, and global best practices.

Also, medical experts from Egypt will participate in exchange visits to Niger State, encourage collaboration and shared learning with intent to strengthen the local health system.

Speaking on the development, members of the delegation expressed optimism that the collaboration will significantly boost healthcare delivery in the state. “This partnership is a game changer,” said Dr. Bello Tukur. “It not only opens new doors for patients in need of advanced care but also equips our medical workforce with the skills and knowledge to transform the healthcare landscape in Niger State.”

The agreement is a demonstration of His Excellency, the Governor of Nigeria State's commitment to innovative and sustainable healthcare reform through global cooperation and investment in human capital. It is expected to serve as a model for other states seeking to leverage international partnerships for public health advancement.

MEETING | HC NSMPHC DR IBRAHIM AHMED DANGANA RECEIVED BIDA FORUM EXECUTIVE IN HIS OFFICE | 14TH MAY, 2025

The Bida Forum Executive met with the HC Dr Ibrahim Ahmed Dangana yesterday at his office. The leader of the team Mallam Muhammad Jameel Muhammd said they feel that there are gaps in Bida Forum and there's the need to address those gaps and rebrand the Forum.

"we felt it's important we meet and engaged with stakeholders like you HC on the issues of rebranding Bida Forum. we are also collaborating with FMC under the programme called Medical Caravan to bring medical support to our people. we are also working to ensure that we have sound and quality education in terms organizing training workshop for the teachers which will be coming up on the 24th May, 2025" said Mallam Muhammd.

The HC in his remark thanks the Executive of Bida Forum for the visit and identifying with him. Dr Dangana highlighted a number of projects and programs being carried out by the Ministry under the New Niger Agenda of His Excellency Farmer Governor Mohammed Umar Bago to revamp PHC across the state.
