Dr. Amb. Nmaa Attends Strategic Workshop on Agricultural Policy Development in Niger State

I was a special guest at a pivotal two-day workshop dedicated to the presentation of preliminary findings for the formulation of key agricultural frameworks in Niger State.

The workshop focused on three major policy areas: the development of the Niger State Policy on Agriculture, the Niger State Agricultural Investment Plan, and the Niger State Gender Policy on Agriculture.

Bringing together stakeholders from across the agricultural sector, the event aimed to lay a strong foundation for inclusive, sustainable, and investment-driven agricultural development in the state.

I commended the initiative and reiterated the importance of collaborative efforts in shaping policies that will drive food security, youth empowerment, and gender inclusion in agriculture.

Bago is leading with vision and with integrity.

Governor Umaru Bago Commences Construction of 55km Gulu-Evuti-Lambata Road Under RAAMP

In a monumental stride towards rural development and agricultural revitalization, Governor Umaru Bago has awarded and commenced work on the 55km Gulu-Evuti-Lambata Road under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP). This initiative marks a turning point for the residents of Lapai Local Government Area, who have endured decades of hardship due to the deplorable state of the road.

For years, farmers in the area have suffered immense losses, with millions of naira worth of produce wasted annually due to the poor condition of the Gulu-Evuti-Lambata (Muye axis) road. The challenges have been particularly severe for the people of Azza, who often leave their vehicles in Lapai and rely on commercial transport to avoid damage to their cars. Travel times that should ideally take less than an hour have frequently stretched to 3-4 hours in the dry season and even longer during the rains.

However, relief is now in sight. The road project, which will be executed as a double-coat surface dressing for durability and ease of access, aligns with Governor Bago’s ambitious rural development agenda. This development brings renewed hope to farmers, traders, and residents, promising better market access and significant economic growth.

The Director General of RAAMP, Ambassador Nmaa Ahmed, expressed his commitment to ensuring the project's timely and efficient ex*****on. He noted that this project is not just about infrastructure but about transforming the livelihoods of rural communities, and bridging the gap between rural areas and economic hubs, enabling smoother movement of goods and services.

Governor Umaru Bago’s administration remains focused on rural transformation, and this project is a testament to his resolve. With the active involvement of RAAMP, led by Ambassador Nmaa Ahmed, the Gulu-Evuti-Lambata road will soon become a symbol of progress and development for Niger State.

On the operationalization of RARA and SRF.

Farmer Bago Encouraging Community Sensitization To Inaugurates A Befitting Rural Roads and Agricultural Incentives For All.

The Management Team of Niger State Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Projects under the leadership of Dr. Nmaa A. Ahmed were charged by the Executive Governor Of Niger State, His Excellency, Farmer Umar Mohammed Bago to mobilised all the stakeholders and rural dwellers to participate and take ownership of any projects or agricultural incentives allocated to their respective communities, maintaining that, masses of a people will not only get contractual value but shall prevent vandalism of all sorts thereby ensuring a win-win situation for the beneficiaries and the government.

To walk the talk, Community Sensitization was identified by Amb. Nmaa led NG-RAAMP as a fulcrum to bring everyone on board and participate in PROJECTS AND PROGRAMS bequeathed to their various communities based on the need assessments and approval of Farmer Umar Mohammed Bago to the various benefiting communities. The Management and Staff of NG-RAAMP explored exotic ideas of deploying strategic awareness to the community leaders and the led, emphasising and appealing to their individual and collective conscience to be conscious of the projects and programs as their own so as to boost the socio-economic activities of trading goods and services agriculturally, from an informal market to a modern one because of the ease of movement created by the back log maintenance, construction of more rural roads and provision of incentives based on the law establishing RAAMP

The Sensitization tour carried out by the Management Team and Staff of NG-RAAMP across the benefiting community featured members of the press corps from reputable Mainstream Media whom interviewed the Director General of NG-RAAMP about the ex*****on of the Mr. Governors Matching Order on linking rural roads to either Trunk B or A roads in Niger State and community leaders on the categories challenges faced before the RAAMP intervention and their socioeconomic prospects after completion. The views shared were collapsed into a documentary and aired on TV Stations particularly Nigeria Television Authority and the only indigenous TV Station in Niger State, NSTV.
