From POS Girl to ‘I Do’ 💍

He came to withdraw money…
I handed him cash.
Then I handed him my number.
Now, I’m wearing his ring. ❤️

We met at Choba Campus, January 2021.
I was working as a POS girl for my boss, helping customers withdraw and deposit money. He was one of my regular customers — quiet, shy, barely saying more than a few words.

But I noticed something…
He was always stealing glances at me. 👀

One day, I decided enough was enough. I walked up to him and said:
"Hi… do you want my number?"
He smiled and replied, “Yes.”

That was the start.

We talked. We connected. We fell in love.
Then he did something I’ll never forget — he encouraged me to quit the POS job and enrolled me in culinary school. He supported me through Uniport, believed in me when I doubted myself, and pushed me to chase my dreams.

Today, I’m the proud owner of Chef’s Choice Culinary — and the once-quiet customer who came for cash is now my husband… my biggest supporter… and the love of my life.

Sometimes, love doesn’t knock.
It stands in front of you, and you have to make the move.
I saw him.
I felt it.
I went for it.
And here we are. 💍

Ego can make you condemn everyone and everything around you because you feel yours alone is the best.

It's important to realize there is difference between Ego and self respect.

Ego means looking down on people. Self respect means avoiding situations that could make people look down on you.

For example:

"He didn't visit me formally, he just sent a text inviting me to the occasion, I won't go".

That's Ego.

I cannot go to an occasion I wasn't invited.

When facing adversity, people can show concern for a while but after sometime they retreat because they have their own problems to solve.
Don't always wait for someone to follow you to that office.
Don't always wait for someone to travel with you.
Stop waiting for someone to sympathize with you.
Learn to advocate for yourself.

Endeavor to build quality relationships.

Relationship can connect to you to opportunities that your certificate alone would not be able to achieve. Networking can open doors for you.

Some of our parents were not rich but they were able to influence school heads to grant us admissions. This was possible because they had a good relationship with school heads.

Quality relationship can also be of great benefits to your children.

Sometimes, poverty can be connected to the absence of certain relationships. Wealth and opportunities can also be linked with the presence of certain relationships.

Stop having problems with everyone. Stop being a problem in everyone's life. Learn to condone people that are not threats to your life and mental health as they would also condone you.

A clear picture about good Mental health can be seen when someone has peace of mind, you see the person glowing and growing effortlessly.

Poor mental health can also affect your physical health. A clear picture about poor mental health can be seen when someone is depréssed, starts to overthink, the body could depreciate, headache sets in.

That's why people in toxic relationships can have issues with their body functions. When you don't have peace, your body starts to function negatively. Abnormalities sets in

One of the worst set of people to be friends with are people who are emotionally manipulative.

If they demand and you refuse to act in accordance, they make you feel guilty. They ask for too many favours. They always want to control. They can make you have low self esteem. They can make you stay away from your family and other important personalities in your life. They like acting the victim. They use your weakness against you. They threaten to hurt themselves if you don't comply.

If you notice anyone in your life that is emotionally manipulative, it's important to create boundaries else the damages will be huge.
