A young man came to our facility to run some tests and he was asking to see me. Immediately I saw him , I recognised him from the previous week. He came to run a pregnancy test with the girlfriend and it turned out that the girlfriend was pregnant. After exchanging pleasantries, he told me that he came to run a seminal fluid analysis. I was shocked. He then opened up that the young lady was his side chick that he was married but the wife hasn't been able to conceive.
According to him , they have been to the doctors and have run several tests of which the wife was confirmed to be okay. He was initially diagnosed of having severe oligos***mia ( he wasn't producing enough s***m cells). He was placed on medication but he hasn't been serious following the prescription. He only met the said girlfriend 2 months ago, and she was already pregnant.
I asked him if she knew about the situation at home , he said yes but that he didn't tell her about his condition. He was having doubt about the pregnancy .
He was asked to produce the sample, and the result came back same as the previous. In fact he will need serious monitoring and strict adherence to his medication in other to boost his s***m production. Aside the low s***m count, the motility was very poor. When he called later for the result, I gave my opinion from the result I had and ask him to have an honest conversation with the said girlfriend. He wasn't able to impregnate the wife in 4 years and he was able to impregnate her in 2 months. I guess after the child is born we will find all the answers we are looking for.
