Oriade Abdulsalam Emerges SUG President as KWCONOO Holds Historic Student Elections

The Kwara State College of Nursing Sciences, Oke-Ode (KWCONOO), on Saturday, 18th of October, 2025 conducted elections into various Students’ Union Government (SUG) and Students’ Representative Council (SRC) positions inside the Institute of Technology (IOT) Hall of the Kwara State Polytechnic Mini Campus, Ilorin.

Meanwhile, the College Provost, Alhaji Olanrewaju AbdulQaudri, paid an unannounced visit to the voting site, coinciding with the moment the winner of the presidential seat was about to be declared.

The election, organised and supervised by the Independent Students Electoral Commission (ISEC) led by Student Nurse Isijola Damilola, marks the second student-led electoral exercise in the history of the College.

In a highly competitive presidential race, Oriade Abdulsalam emerged victorious with 107 votes, defeating Olanipekun Peter (80 votes), Abbey Kazeem (65 votes), and Ibrahim Abdulgafar (54 votes).
