One of the minimum World Health Organization (WHO) IPC requirements is to build a strong network of secondary & tertiary health facilities conducting healthcare-associated infection surveillance.
Our strategy supports health facilities in building functional programmes at all levels.
Last week, working with other major stakeholders, we began implementation of a 6 month pilot of Post-Caesarian Section Surgical Site Infection surveillance across the 6 geopolitical zones.
This pilot will inform a core part of the national HAI surveillance strategy for Nigeria.
