APC Hausa Community In Osun Organizes Prayer Session For Oyetola’s Victory At Supreme Court

As the Supreme Court sitting in Abuja prepares to deliver its judgement on the outcome of the last governorship election held in Osun, the All Progressives Congress(APC) Hausa-Fulani community in the State, on Wednesday 3rd May, 2023 held a marathon prayer session to facilitate the victory of former governor Adegboyega Isiak Oyetola.
The group also initiated the procession to seek divine intervention in the affairs of the State.
The well attended Islamic prayer session took place at the Hausa Community Central Mosque, Obada area, Ifon-Osun.
Convener of the event and former Senior Special Assistant to the Osun State Governor on Non Indigenes Affairs, Hon. Umar Muhammed, revealed to journalists that the APC Hausa community in Osun are eager to see Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola get a favorable judgement at the apex court because of his remarkable performance during his first term in office.
According to Hon. Umar Muhammed, it was important for the group to intercede and pray for the triumph of the Osun APC guber candidate in a bid to ensure he reclaims his second term mandate and return the State towards the path of true progress. The facilitator of the religious gathering opined that prayer remains the most potent means to achieve success in any positive endeavor.
Umar added that the activity commenced in January 2023 and was concluded with the special devotional service.
On his part, the leader of the APC Hausa-Fulani community in Ife, Garba Muhammad said: “The spiritual gathering was initiated so as to seek God’s intervention in the ongoing legal tussle between the APC and the ruling PDP over the outcome of the 2022 Osun governorship poll.
“The immediate past administration led by Alhaji Oyetola had a very cordial relationship with non-indigenes of Osun.This approach to governance is responsible for the peaceful and harmonious relationship that existed between the Hausa community and indigenes of Osun, throughout the 4 years the former governor was in office," Garba posited.
The lawmaker for Osogbo/Olorunda/Irepodun/Orolu Federal Constituency was represented at the programme by the Director General of his campaign organization, Hon. Jamiu Adejumo.
Speaking on behalf of the federal legislator, Hon. Adejumo stated that the electorate cannot wait to welcome Oyetola back because of the failure of the current administration to match the achievements of the previous one. He lamented the worrisome state of security in the state, while expressing optimism that the former governor's return will bring back the peace and tranquility earlier experienced across the area.
“As a matter of fact, residents of Osogbo Federal Constituency are eager to welcome APC back, and this is why various groups in the area are praying fervently to God to give victory to Alhaji Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola at the Supreme Court.”
Adejumo urged Muslims and Christians in the state to use the next few days to supplicate and pray for APC's success at the apex court.
The prayer session, which was attended by politicians, religious leaders, community heads from across the state, was led by the Imam of Hausa-Fulani Community Central Mosque in Ifon, Mallam Umar Naibi, who recited verses from the Holy Qur’an.
