MARRIAGE AND HEPATITIS
1.Before you can enjoy love and God’s grace in your marriage, your physical body has to be healthy.
2.Your vision and ambition in life can only be carried out if your body is perfectly well. You can be emotionally and psychologically stable, but you cannot move from one point another if your body is sick.
3.There may be frustration, weariness of heart, sorrow, grumbling, depression etc in marriage if one party cannot stand up on his/her feet as a result of illness. Love and affection may wane too.
4.Hepatitis is not well campaigned like other diseases/virus eg. HIV/AIDS etc
5.Hepatitis: A highly contagious liver infection, spreads from infected food or water. It can also be contacted through body fluids (blood, semen, virginal fluids etc)
6.Hepatitis is in different types: Hepatitis A,B,C,D,E. I will discuss briefly on Hepatitis B. it is a disease caused by the hepatitis B virus, and can be acute or chronic. Infection with hepatitis B virus is the leading cause of chronic hepatitis worldwide and people with chronic hepatitis B infection are at high risk of developing liver cancer. Also, the hepatitis B virus is the leading cause of cirrhosis. It is more infectious than HIV.
7.After contacting hepatitis B, they enter incubation period. The infected person usually does not experience symptoms until major damage is done on the liver or other organs in the body.
8. Hepatitis B virus is a serious matter and very common in Nigeria. Four (4) out of ten (10) Nigerians are carriers
9. It is better to know your status today, and your family members too.
10. The earlier you detect the better. You are not healthy until you check yourself!
11. If you are tested negative congratulations, but it does not end there, make sure you get the vaccine without delay.
12. And, if you are Hepatitis B positive, that is not the end of life, all you need to do is to act fast. Delay is dangerous!
13. Follow instructions! Go to standard hospital and follow the instructions of medical personnel. Don’t just take any drug because we are talking about liver here.
14. Many have gone because they lack knowledge on dangerous effect of Hepatitis B. It is costlier to manage when the worst has been done. If you are experiencing excessive head ache or joint pains don’t just be taking anti malaria drugs visit hospital
15. Singles! Please, as you are doing test on HIV/AIDS, Blood group, genotype etc. ensure that your partner is free from Hepatitis B and if he/she is positive seek counsel from medical personnel.
16. Unfortunately, premarital s*x has put many singles on high risk of Hepatitis
17. If you are already suffering from Hepatitis B, cirrhosis or liver cancer may GOD Almighty deliver you in Jesus name.
18. I will advice churches and different organizations to conduct Hepatitis test for their members. It may cost you more if you keep quiet.
19. Some may want to ignore this message since liver disease is common among smokers and drunkards. Hepatitis can be caused by excessive alcohol consumption or infection. Other toxic causes of hepatitis include overuse or overdose of medications and exposure to poisons
20. You are permitted to share this message. You may not know the number of wives you are saving from becoming widows or husbands from becoming widowers
21. May God bless your home.

Introduction

Hepatitis B is an infection which affects the most important organ of the body (the liver),it is caused on being exposed to the HBV (Hepatitis B virus), soon after the hepatitis B virus (HBV) enters the body, it infects cells in the liver called hepatocytes. In response to this infection, the immune system tries to destroy the virus. The liver participates in this fight by increasing the amount of enzymes it manufactures, which causes inflammation of the liver (hepatitis).
The initial infection is known as acute hepatitis B, meaning short-term inflammation of the liver. Most people are able to clear hepatitis B from the body within six months of becoming infected. If they clear it, they are no longer infected, nor can they infect others. Additionally, they now have hepatitis B antibodies, which will protect them from future reinfection.

Viral hepatitis is one of the biggest public health threats of our lifetime. Globally, over 300 million people are living with chronic hepatitis B or hepatitis C. In 2016, the federal government declared that over 22.6 million Nigerians are infected with hepatitis, making it many times more common than HIV. Devastatingly, it is responsible for 1 in 12 of all cancer deaths each year.

People with chronic hepatitis B and C are encouraged to avoid alcohol because it can accelerate liver disease and failure. Many people with hepatitis have financial problems and cannot afford to purchase expensive organic foods and indeed this is not necessary. As long as you purchase fresh fruits and vegetables that are in season and consume these regularly you will achieve the desired result in improving your liver function and your immune system.

CAUSES OF HEPATITIS

(1) Sharing of infected syringes

(2) Sexual contact with the infected individuals

(3) Transmission from mother to child during birth

(4) Sharing infected toothbrush, razor and other sharp instrument

(5) Not applying sterilized tools for piercing tattooing and others

Common signs and symptoms of hepatitis

If you have infectious forms of hepatitis that are chronic, like hepatitis B and C, you may not have symptoms in the beginning. Symptoms may not occur until the damage affects liver function. These signs and symptoms include:

(1) fatigue
(2) flu-like symptoms
(3) dark urine
(4) pale stool
(5) abdominal pain
(6) loss of appetite
(7) unexplained weight loss
(8) yellow skin and eyes, which may be signs of jaundice

Complications of hepatitis

Chronic hepatitis B or C can often lead to more serious health problems. Because the virus affects the liver, people with chronic hepatitis B or C are at risk of:

(1) chronic liver disease
(2) cirrhosis
(3) liver cancer

Complications of liver failure
When your liver stops functioning normally, liver failure can occur. Complications of liver failure include:
(1) bleeding disorders
(2) a buildup of fluid in your abdomen, known as ascites
(3) increased blood pressure in portal veins that enter your liver, known as portal hypertension
(4) kidney failure
(5) hepatic encephalopathy, which can involve fatigue, memory loss, and diminished mental abilities due to the buildup of toxins, like ammonia, that affect brain function
(6) hepatocellular carcinoma, which is a form of liver cancer
(7) death

The Liver
The liver is the largest gland in the body, as well as the only organ that can reproduce itself if part of it is eliminated.

The functions of the liver:
(1) Production of the bile that is accumulated in the gall bladder ( pear shaped muscular sac under the liver). Bile is necessary for digesting fats by emulsifying them into little bubbles, which may later be absorbed.
(2) Help bile absorb vitamins A, D, E & K and calcium.
(3) Accumulate the excess of vitamins A, B12 & D for future use.
(4) Help in the synthesis of fatty acids and sugars as w
