Ngozi Maternity and Hospital Services Holds Official Opening and Thanksgiving in Owerrinta
Ngozi Maternity and Hospital Services held its official opening and thanksgiving ceremony on 7th January 2026 in Owerrinta, Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area of Abia State, marking the formal unveiling of the healthcare facility to the public.
The founders, US-based healthcare professionals, Dr Ngozi Erondu and Dr (Mrs) Ngozi Ogbonna-Erondu recognize the need for quality and affordable healthcare services. The original Ngozi Maternity Home was established in 1956 by the late Mrs. Regina Erondu, and since her death in 1994, there has been a significant gap in maternal and pediatric services in the community. In 2022, Dr & Dr (Mrs) Erondu, along with their four children who are medical Doctors, Dr. Mgbechi Erondu, Dr. Chioma Erondu, Dr. Alozie Erondu, and Dr. Ihuoma Erondu, decided to reopen and expand the maternity home into a full-fledged hospital, aiming to serve the community and beyond.
The hospital was established with a strong commitment to preserving life and improving maternal, child, and general health outcomes within the community. It is dedicated to providing safe, compassionate, and patient-centered healthcare services in a professional and ethically guided environment.
Ngozi Maternity and Hospital Services offers a wide range of medical services, including antenatal care, safe and supervised deliveries, postnatal care, child healthcare, laboratory services, ultrasound services, eye care, and general medical and surgical services. The facility operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, ensuring uninterrupted access to healthcare for patients at all times.
Speaking during the event, the Owner, Dr. Ngozi Erondu, described the hospital as a vision driven by service, faith, and compassion.
“Ngozi Maternity and Hospital Services was established to provide safe, reliable, and compassionate healthcare, especially for mothers and children. Our goal is to ensure that every patient receives quality care delivered with dignity, respect, and professionalism,” he said.
Dr. Erondu expressed gratitude to God and appreciation to family members, partners, and well-wishers for their prayers, encouragement, and support, noting that the hospital is committed to being a place of healing, hope, and positive health outcomes.
He reaffirmed the commitment of Ngozi Maternity and Hospital Services to excellence, ethical medical practice, and continuous service to the community, with a focus on accessible, affordable and dependable healthcare delivery.
