A lot of things that keeps us from full recovery is time and management approach
When it's the case of stroke there's an emergency approach to help save time and save the person.
We call it FAST!
F - Face Drooping:
Does one side of the face droop or is it numb? Ask the person to smile. Is the smile uneven?
A - Arm Weakness:
Is one arm weak or numb? Ask the person to raise both arms. Does one arm drift downward?
S - Speech Difficulty:
Is speech slurred, are they unable to speak, or are they hard to understand? Ask the person to repeat a simple sentence like "The sky is blue."
T - Time to call emergency services:
If you observe any of these signs, call emergency services immediately.
Time is critical in treating strokes.
The reason why this post is valuable is that strokes are a leading cause of death and disability worldwide, but treatment can be highly effective if administered quickly.
The faster a stroke patient receives medical attention, the more likely they are to recover with less long-term damage.
