Grateful Beginnings: Embracing the TechWomen Journey 💚💚💚

I am deeply grateful to God for this remarkable opportunity to be part of the 2025 TechWomen Program: a transformative experience that has truly reshaped how I see leadership, innovation and impact.

Out of nearly 6,000 applications from around the world(22 Countries), only 108 women were selected to join this year’s cohort and I’m beyond honored to be among them.

The TechWomen Program, an initiative of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs IIE, brings together emerging women leaders in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) for a five-week mentorship and exchange experience in the United States.

Our journey includes:
Professional Mentorship — learning from top industry leaders in leading tech companies.
Cultural Mentorship — building friendships and understanding across borders.
Community Networking & Tours — exploring innovation, culture and collaboration at its best.
Innovation Challenge — co-creating solutions that drive real change in our home countries.

I am especially thankful to my incredible mentors, program directors and the entire TechWomen team for their guidance and inspiration.

But what truly makes this experience unforgettable is the amazing fellowship, meeting some of the most brilliant, passionate and resilient women from across the globe. The bond, the laughter, the learning and the sisterhood we’ve built is beyond words.

Cheers to the beginning of a lifelong journey of impact, one that extends far beyond the five weeks in the U.S. I look forward to sharing my highlights, daily visits and reflections from this extraordinary experience.

AWEC Virtual Leadership Summit | Zoomie Connection

Excited to connect with my amazing Zoomie sisters — Jewel Wesseh-Duo from Liberia and Robiat Abodunrin Ottan from Nigeria as part of the AWEC Virtual Leadership Summit 2025.

My business, Royal Pearls Resources Ltd was founded to empower women and smallholder farmers through value-added agro-processing, turning local crops into nutritious gluten-free food products promoting sustainable trade across Africa.

Through AWEC , I hope to scale our impact, strengthen our systems and expand our reach across borders under the AfCFTA framework.

I am looking forward to supporting my Zoomies through shared learning, collaboration and encouragement as we all grow as African women leaders and changemakers.

Among the many enriching experiences of the TechWomen journey, the Innovation Challenge truly stands out, a space where Emerging Leaders from each country come together to co-create solutions to real challenges back home.

As Team Nigeria 🇳🇬 myself, and — we had such a rewarding experience brainstorming, debating and laughing our way through the process of identifying one key problem we aim to solve upon our return. The energy, creativity and sisterhood made it truly unforgettable. 💚💚💚

We are deeply grateful to our incredible Innovation Challenge mentors — khadija Afroze, Laura Draxler and Rita Horner for their wisdom, patience and encouragement. Your guidance helped us think bigger, refine our ideas and believe even more strongly in the power of collaboration to drive change.

We’re excited to keep building solutions that empower women and transform communities when we return home!

One of the most memorable highlights of my TechWomen journey so far has been my visit to my host company DNV in Oakland.

Together with a fellow Emerging Leader from Kazakhstan .kashkombayeva , I had the privilege of presenting about our TechWomen journey, our work and our companies. The entire DNV team gave us such a warm welcome, from engaging introductions to thoughtful conversations and even hosting us to a lovely lunch. The kindness and openness in the office created such a welcoming atmosphere that truly reflected the spirit of mentorship and collaboration.

The experience extended beyond the office as well. After our presentations, we had the chance to explore Oakland’s 19th Street, take in the peaceful views by the lake and enjoy the breathtaking perspective from the 21st floor of the DNV office. Even the train commute from Santa Clara to Oakland added its own fun to the day, reminding me how much joy can be found in new experiences.

I am deeply grateful to my professional mentors at DNV — Gomathi Sadhasivan Gomathi Sadhasivan, Sujeetha Selvakkumaran Sujeetha Selvakkumaran and Lalita Nayagam Lalita Nayagam for your time, encouragement and commitment to supporting us Emerging Leaders. Celebrating Nigeria @ 65 – From San Francisco with Love 🇳🇬

Today, as Nigeria marks her 65th Independence Anniversary, my heart is full of pride and reflection. From our rich culture and resilience to our boundless potential, Nigeria remains a land of possibilities and I am honored to carry her story with me here in San Francisco as a TechWomen 2025 Emerging Leader.

This journey reminds me how far we’ve come as a nation and how far I’ve come personally from building championing sustainable Agribusiness/Agriculture and clean energy to now standing on a global platform learning, sharing and growing with brilliant minds from around the world.

Nigeria at 65 is a story of courage, creativity and hope. And like many young Nigerians, I am committed to writing the next chapter one that advances food security, women’s empowerment and climate solutions that uplift communities at home and beyond.

Here’s to celebrating our independence, our resilience and our shared journey of transformation. Happy Independence Day, Nigeria!

It’s official – TechWomen 2025 has begun!

I’m thrilled to announce that I have joined TechWomen 2025 as an Emerging Leader representing Nigeria 🇳🇬 here in San Francisco!

Alongside 100+ phenomenal women from across the globe, I am diving into weeks of mentorship, innovation and collaboration with U.S. leaders in STEM and entrepreneurship.

This is a huge milestone for me and also a chance to amplify my mission with my company Royal Pearls Resources Ltd and CleanCook Sisters Initiative— championing sustainable Agribusiness, clean energy and women’s empowerment.

I’ll be sharing my journey right here — the people I meet, the lessons I learn and the experiences that will shape how I give back to my community and beyond.
