You're One Emergency Away!

After following the harrowing events that led to the Junior Pope’s demise this last week,

I have not been able to shake thoughts around this:

You're One Emergency Away ….

This will make the most sense to you IF you live in a developing country like Nigeria…

Because, whether you've thought about it or not,

The naked reality is that
If you ever get caught needing an emergency medical intervention in a place where you can't get it,

Then you'd realize that all the millions saved up in your bank account won't jump out and save your life.

2021 was the first time this lesson came to life for me.
A friend needed an ambulance well equipped with Oxygen in Lagos

And even though the family provided the one million naira instant deposit required, he still couldn't be saved!

Another lady narrated how her mother was rushed to the church for prayers first, after a stroke, Instead of being taken to the hospital.

Multiple levels of the same problem…

Of course, none of us knows what's going to tip the scale for us in our last moments

Yet, i have always maintained that MANY ‘untimely’ DEATHS are hardly due to the ‘total surrender to the will of God’ but more of ‘man-made inefficiencies, carelessness and deficiencies ‘

Barely two months ago,

I had an experience that left me hanging at the mercy of receiving an effective ‘emergency response’.

Till this moment I still shudder when I relive the speed of the response, comparable only to what i have seen in action /medical movies, except this time, I was a lead actor in the movie!

The whole experience made me appreciate life on a totally different level.
Hopefully I get to share more personal lessons later.

Still, This Is Why We Preach What We Preach

When it comes to High Blood Pressure Control,

HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE CONTROL: ARE YOU "REALISTIC" OR AFRAID?🧐

I laughed so hard to one of Governor Wike's interviews on television where he was asked if this particular presidential candidate was a top contender at the PDP Primaries

Wike laughed and said

'let's be serious here'😅😅😅

I add,

in other words,

Let's be realistic here🤣🤣🤣

I felt for the aspirant though

Because nobody believed in him

Not Wike, not presenter .....

I wonder if her even believed in himself🤷🤣

Anyway, that's not really my concern

All na politics😭

My concern is THE REAL REASON behind this term, 'let's be realistic here'

Because many dreams, hopes, prayers have been shattered with this 4 word phrase!

I don't know whether anybody has ever said them to you OR you've ever said them to yourself

Of course nobody is asking you to believe in Magic or an eighth world wonder

But do you sacrifice your dream on the altar of 'let's be realistic here?'

We all face them.

Detractors

Naysayers

Doubters

Dream killers

Have you stopped to wonder the real reason behind this.

I have
and I will tell you what these words really mean

But first,

A story

Last Saturday, two of our clients shocked me.

First woman said she had over 100% belief she would be FREE from high blood pressure, the two drugs she's currently been taking.
