😵🌹When All Hope Is Lost
The sky hung low with heavy clouds, and the air carried the smell of rain. In a quiet village named Umule, a young boy named Daniel sat silently outside his family’s small, worn-out hut. Life had not been kind to him. His father had traveled to the city months ago in search of work and never returned. His mother had fallen ill, and their small farm had dried up because of the long drought.
For days, Daniel searched the fields, hoping to find something to eat, but the land was barren. Each evening, he knelt by his bedside and prayed, yet nothing seemed to change. One night, as hunger and worry filled his heart, he whispered, “Maybe God has forgotten me.”
The next morning, while sitting under an old tree near the road, Daniel saw an elderly woman passing by. She noticed his sad face and stopped.
“My son,” she said softly, “why are you sitting here with tears in your eyes?”
Daniel looked up and replied, “There is no hope left. My mother is sick, my father is gone, and our crops are dead.”
The woman smiled gently and placed a small bag of seeds in his hand. “Hope is like a seed,” she said. “It only grows when you plant it and care for it.”
Daniel didn’t fully understand, but he decided to do as she said. He went to the edge of the village, where a small stream still flowed, and planted the seeds. Every day, even when he felt weak and hopeless, he watered the soil and removed the weeds.
Weeks later, green shoots began to appear. Daniel watched with excitement as the plants grew taller and stronger. Before long, he had a beautiful garden filled with vegetables and fruits. His mother regained her strength after eating the fresh food, and news of Daniel’s garden spread through the village.
One bright morning, Daniel’s father returned home, carrying a small bag of money and stories of how he had finally found work. The family rejoiced together, grateful for what they had.
As Daniel looked at the green garden before him, he remembered the old woman’s words:
> “Hope is never lost. It only hides until you choose to believe again.”
