From Celebration to Transition: SOSMELSSA Ushers in New Leadership

We are delighted to inform the general public that on Sunday, 31st August 2025, during the Sendforth Ceremony organized by the Sokoto State Medical Laboratory Science Students Association (SOSMELSSA) for her graduating students, a significant milestone was achieved in the history of our association.

Following the official dissolution of the previous executive council, a new chapter began as the newly elected SOSMELSSA Executives for the 2025/2026 Academic Session were formally inaugurated during the event held at CHS Auditorium, UDUTH, by 9:00 AM prompt.

This marks a fresh beginning in our continued journey of leadership, service, and academic excellence.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the outgoing executives for their dedicated service and warmly welcome the new team led by Comr. Ukasha Sanusi (President), as they take on the mantle of leadership.

FAREWELL MESSAGE

Dear SOSMELSSA members and fellow executives,

As I bid farewell to this chapter of our journey together as your President, I want to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you for your support, dedication, and commitment to our association.

To my fellow executives, I'm honored to have worked alongside such a talented and driven team. Our collective efforts have yielded remarkable achievements, including the successful construction of our concrete seat, impactful medical outreach in Tangaza, and outstanding performance in various activities such as weekly presentations, online quizzes, and tutorials for juniors. The founding of our quality jersey has also unified us and given us a sense of pride.

I would like to extend special appreciation to Ahmad Sani Abubakar (Protocol Director) and Ahmad Ibrahim Sani (Academic Director), whose tireless efforts, talent, kindness, and truthfulness were instrumental in our success. Your dedication and sacrifice have been invaluable, and I'm grateful for your contributions.

As I step down as President, I'm proud of what we've accomplished together, and I'm confident that SOSMELSSA will continue to thrive under new leadership. Thank you for being part of this journey, and I wish you all the best for the future. May Almighty Allah reward your efforts and bless our association.

Alhamdulillah, the 9th Annual Health Week Medical Outreach of SOSMELSSA UDUS Chapter was successfully held on 30th August, 2025 in Tangaza LGA with massive turnout and free tests (HBsAg, Genotype, Blood Grouping & Malaria RDT).

Appreciation Message

The Sokoto State Medical Laboratory Science Students’ Association (SOSMELSSA), UDUS Chapter, joyfully announces the successful completion of its 9th Annual Health Week Medical Outreach, held on Saturday, 30th August, 2025 at Tangaza LGA.

With the theme “Preventing Sickle Cell, Preserving Futures: The Power of Pre-Marital Screening”, the outreach provided free medical services including HBsAg, Genotype, ABO Blood Grouping, and Malaria RDT tests to members of the community. The program recorded a remarkable turnout, creating awareness on the importance of premarital screening in safeguarding future generations.

We extend our profound appreciation to our sponsor, Hon. Nura Shehu Tangaza, Commissioner of Environment, Sokoto State, whose generous support made this impactful program a reality. His commitment to community health and youth-driven initiatives continues to inspire us greatly.

We are delighted to announce that SOSMELSSA (UDUS Chapter) emerged victorious in an exciting football clash against AMLSN (Sokoto CSC) with a thrilling scoreline of 5 – 4 during our 9th Annual Health Week!

Dear esteemed members of the association,

I'm Almustapha Aliyu by name , former Auditor general of this great association and former Acting SOSMELSSA President, standing before you today, deeply humbled and grateful for the trust you've placed in me to lead this remarkable Association. I'm honored to express my heartfelt appreciation to each of you for this privilege.

To our staff adviser's and my fellow executive council of the association, I extend my sincerest gratitude for your tireless efforts and dedication to our association. Your leadership has paved the way for our continued growth and success.

To my fellow members, I'm grateful for your enthusiasm, commitment, and passion for our shared mission. Together, we'll strive for excellence, innovation, and progress to our dear SOSMELSSA.
