THE GOLDEN QUOTES AND WHITE COATS: THE BECOMING OF THE AURELIUS
On the 14th of November, 2025, the Faculty of Pharmacy officially welcomed the 4th set of 200-level students into the profession at the 2025 White Coat Ceremony, held alongside the Freshmen Orientation.
From inspiring speeches delivered by the Dean, lecturers, and guest speakers, to powerful reminders about teamwork, mental health, and discipline, the ceremony was truly memorable.
Highlights of the event included:
🌺 An introduction to pharmacy and pharmacy school by the Vice President of PANS FUOYE, Miss Amirat, and the Faculty Dean, Prof. M.O. Adedokun. This was followed by a strong emphasis on student mental health by the Faculty Counsellor, Mrs. Olayinka.
🥼 The donning of white lab coats then commenced, accompanied by the administration of the Pharmacy Students’ Oath and the official induction of the new PANSITES. The President of PANS FUOYE, Comr. Akapo Emmanuel, delivered an address to the newly accepted PANSITES, speaking on practical survival strategies for navigating pharmacy school.
💥 A keynote speech on collaboration and networking was delivered by Pharm. Adeoye. He highlighted the importance of building meaningful connections not only with established professionals but also with fellow PANSITES across different levels—emphasizing that those closest to you often become your strongest support in demanding situations.
💡 Dr. Tobi Olakojo’s session focused on time management, prioritization, and discipline as essential habits for pharmacy students. Drawing from his own experience in pharmacy school, he stressed self-discovery as a crucial factor in balancing multiple roles on campus alongside academic responsibilities.
🎊 A vibrant giveaway segment hosted by Mr. and Miss PANS FUOYE followed. The session lit up the audience, giving participants the opportunity to win gifts while remaining fully engaged.
