DRUGS NOT TO TAKE DURING PREGNANCY

Accutane (isotretinoin): Used to treat severe acne, Accutane has been linked to birth defects, including heart defects, ear and eye abnormalities, and cleft lip and palate.

Thalidomide: This medication was once prescribed to treat morning sickness in pregnant women but was later found to cause severe birth defects, including limb abnormalities.

Warfarin: An anticoagulant medication used to prevent blood clots, Warfarin has been associated with birth defects and bleeding in the developing fetus.

ACE inhibitors: Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors are used to treat high blood pressure and heart failure. However, they can cause serious complications in the developing fetus, including lung and heart problems.

Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs): NSAIDs, such as ibuprofen and aspirin, can increase the risk of miscarriage, premature birth, and fetal kidney damage.

Tetracycline: This antibiotic can cause tooth discoloration and bone growth problems in the developing fetus.

Methotrexate: This medication is used to treat cancer and autoimmune diseases but can cause severe birth defects and miscarriage.

NB: Before taking any medications at all, consult your pharmacist or a medical practitioner.
