💃💃 Revving Up the Weekend! 🚗💨

What a treat it was to step back in time at the classic car show this weekend!

Even for someone who's not a "car freak" (like me!), it was impossible not to be impressed by the sheer beauty and history on display. It was just beyond the Shine.

Honestly, there's something truly special about these vintage beauties.

My biggest takeaway? Learning that iconic brands like Porsche and Lambogini actually started out making tractors but look at them now. Mind blowing!! 🤯

And yes, I absolutely had to snag a pic with one – swipe to see!

But it wasn't just about the cars; it was about the stories and the passion of the owners. The way they spoke about their vehicles, you could feel the pride radiating off them.

It was truly a beautiful event, filled with incredible machines and even more incredible enthusiasts.

Culture Shock: Greetings Edition!

Moving from Nigeria to the UK has been amazing, but let's talk about greetings!

Back home, it's all about a hearty and most times cheerful "Good morning/afternoon/evening!" – a little prayer, said with a smile will be like a sprinkle of sunshine making someone's day. ✨

Here? Well, a "Hi" feels like winning the lottery. 😅

Most times, you get what I call the 'forced half-smile' – slightly terrifying, if I'm honest and I hate it,😕

My kids were just as confused! We raise them with "Respect your elders and always greet," and they were baffled by the lack of greetings.

So, we tried the British way: "Hi," or... we give the half-smile. 😶

But after a couple of weeks, I couldn't take it anymore!

"Nope," I declared. "We're going full-on Nigerian in this!" Huge smiles, warm wishes for everyone!

Did they respond? Not always.

Some looked at us like we'd grown two heads. 👽

Even some fellow Africans, who have decided them don become oyibo seemed surprised and will even ignore you or if they see you coming, cross to the other side (Story for another day).🙄🙄

But guess what? Lately, I've been getting the sweetest feedback! Patients telling me how polite and courteous my kids are.

Apparently, our little bursts of Nigerian sunshine are making an impact! ☀️

So, yeah, I love my new home and its beautiful cultures. But in the greeting department? I'm proudly, loudly, and cheerfully African! 🇳🇬🇬🇧

Today, on my birthday, I reflect on the significance of this moment. It's a time to cherish and appreciate the blessings that have come my way.

This year holds a special meaning for me. I find myself not just counting my blessings but actually living them. My dreams have become a reality, my prayers have been answered, and I feel a profound sense of fulfillment.

As I celebrate today, I am overwhelmed with happiness and gratitude. This birthday marks a milestone in my journey towards contentment and joy.

Lately, i find myself reflecting upon the healthcare system here in Scotland, how it differs from the Nigerian healthcare system.

One thing that really stands out is how much emphasis is placed on making sure people understand their health! 🤔

It's honestly so inspiring to see health awareness taken so seriously over here. 🎯

Back in Nigeria, you have people taking medications without knowing why or possible adverse effects (if any)😒

In some cases, people are reluctant to ask the physician questions and those who dare ask are disregarded or even denied further help.

I remember a time when I was explaining things to a patient and my supervisor cautioned me that I am 'wasting time, wetin the person wan use the information do'😅. Funny but sad.

Yet again, being able to explain things to my patients isn't just a job for me, it's something I truly love doing and i am glad i have a platform and enablement to do it now😍

I am also glad that some young physicians are changing the status quo and sharing information both to their patients and here on social media.

There's nothing better than knowing someone leaves feeling empowered and actually understanding what's going on with their eyes and how to look after them.

Just telling someone what's wrong isn't enough, right?

I really believe in giving people the info they need to keep their eyes healthy and hopefully prevent future problems. 👍

Going that extra mile to care for people and make sure they understand is so important. 🎯

My Highland lessons are already profound.🫡

The fierce protection of "down time" here is something else entirely. People don't joke with their day off unless it is a medical emergency.

I have had people cancel doctor's appointment because they have a holiday planned.😳

To make it easy, people here have work phone numbers, work emails etc separate from personal.

When someone is off, thats it, they are off!

It's like a force field goes up around their personal time. No work calls, no emails, just pure, unadulterated rest and rejuvenation - often involving breathtaking escapes under the vast Scottish sky❤️

But in Naija, a day off often meant a different kind of busy - family obligations, events... a "holiday" that could leave you more drained. Some even use that period for farming.🫤

Witnessing this dedication to mental wellbeing has been eye-opening.

Could this be the secret to their long lives? 🤔

Anyway, I understand most times our wahala in Nigeria is on a different level but if we dont start prioritising our mental health, we run at risk of living miserable lives.

John O' Groats is indeed one of the most beautiful places I have been to in recent times.

Had our first Haggish, our first beer-from-tap and of course lots of ice cream😍

My Story

Starting a business was a decision i made many years ago. But choosing to build one took more than a decision. It took a whole lot of trying out different things, a lots of failures and losses and resolve.

When i started, i had a couple of support from friends and family but as each business fail, my support group dwindled to zero.

When i ventured into Network Marketing, i had zero support and a lot of objections and opinions but i still went ahead. The little number of friends i had left started avoiding me. I was all alone but having seen the result in other people’s lives, i got more determined to push my business.

2 years later with 2000 partners, it is one of the best decisions i have ever made.
