HAVE YOU EVER BEEN TESTED FOR HEPATITIS?

One of the most dangerous aspects of hepatitis infection is its hidden nature; it often does not reveal signs and symptoms in the early stages. Unlike many diseases and infections that show noticeable symptoms initially, hepatitis can remain silent.

Despite my deep passion for reading and research, I had never encountered any of the five hepatitis viruses until my elder son, Abba, contracted one, which ultimately led to his death at the age of 23 seven years ago.

Abba's death profoundly changed my life, particularly regarding testing, diagnosis, and vaccination for any immunizable infections and diseases.

Today, the 15th day of the month of Ramadhan (March 15, 2025), marks the anniversary of his passing.

I urgently call on everyone to stand firm against hepatitis and all other dangerous ailments.

May the souls of those who have died from hepatitis all over the world rest in perfect peace. We will continue to work tirelessly to see hepatitis eliminated.
