Yesterday, on World Health Day, we were reminded of a simple but powerful truth: health is not a privilege - it is a fundamental human right.

At AHF Europe, we see every day how access to healthcare can transform lives. From HIV prevention and testing to treatment and support, our mission is rooted in equity, dignity, and care for all.

Yet, across Europe and beyond, too many people still face barriers: stigma, discrimination, and limited access to essential services.

With the WHO Pandemic Agreement negotiations fast approaching, the time to act is now.

Our AHF Europe team led a coordinated “EU: Stop Blocking Health Equity” protest at European Commission headquarters in Brussels yesterday, alongside partners G*T (Portugal), Positive Voice (Greece), and Demetra (Lithuania).

The demonstration was followed by a press conference, where representatives from AHF Europe, the AHF Global Public Health Institute, RANA (Africa), G*T, Positive Voice, and Demetra called on European powers to secure binding equity provisions in the PABS Annex of the Pandemic Agreement.

Yesterday, we wrapped up our press conference and demonstration in Brussels, calling on the European Commission to support global health equity in the Pandemic Agreement negotiations.
