"Life is not a problem to be solved but a reality to be experienced" — Søren Aabye Kierkegaard, early 19th-century philosopher.
Everyone is trying so hard to find happiness nowadays. In todays culture, people tend to think there is something wrong with them if they aren't happy all the time. Life is being described as a constant journey to find and maintain happiness.
The philosopher Socrates once said, "The secret of happiness, you see, is not found in seeking more, but in developing the capacity to enjoy less." I always found this as the idea of being happy with what you have now, being grateful for the situation you are in and for the things you have. That is sometimes a LOT easier said than done. It takes time and energy to start finding that acceptance. The journey that this leads to one of healing and, of finding out what really matters to you.
I have always been a firm believer that you have to experience the whole range of emotions, including sadness, to really appreciate happiness.
To me, happiness is definitely an accomplishment. It is something I strive to grasp moments of. To enjoy them, and embrace them, however fleeting they may be. Sometimes, it's super hard to accept that happiness isn't something that is constant and to try and enjoy it when you have it. It is the art of being present. 💚💙❤
