In a Facebook Group i visit regularly, I was recently reminded of a question which someone asked, and which i didn't answer fully . so i decided to answer it today ... and it led to a lot of people asking if I would set up a workshop to teach what i wrote about ... So now, here I am, sharing it with my friends and followers ... maybe you might also be interested
The question was regarding my service of providing "assisted departures" for terminally ill patients at the end of life ... he asked:
"With the terminally ill, crossing over... question: I thought the sound helps keep the person here and grounded, so using sound at the time of passing isn't really helping them?"

and my reply ...
Firstly, I am a follower of, and teacher of, the principals of Advaita Vedanta ... i won't go into detail here but suffice it to say that the underlying belief is that everything is Brahman, everything in this plane of existence is a combination of a temporary form given to the infinite and eternal "energy" of Brahman. This affects my attitude to "death" by turning it from a "loss of life" into "loss of form" or, more accurately, a **return** to the purity of state which is formless and infinite Brahman. (Christians might resonate with this if i use "your eternal soul" in place of "Atman/Brahman") ..
Secondly (and this is only my personl opinion based on years of experience)... At it's best, a properly conducted and executed "soundbath" is a guided and transformative journey from egoic "me" towards true "self". In fact, in a deep sound journey, there is a real need to ensure that participants are "brought back to ground" before leaving the sessions.
Now relating the idea of a "journey to self" with my profound belief in Attman (the personal element of Brahman within us) and the idea that Atman is the egoless, pure state of Brahman in human form, you can maybe see that a Sound Journey, a "journey to Self" is an awakening to the presence of Atman within.
If, therefore, we don't attempt to "bring the subject back to ground" but continue to unfold the beautiful journey .... when the "form" (ego-mind-body) finally "dis-integrates" from the substance (Atman/Brahman), then the journey is complete ... another transition has been assisted in the most gentle and struggle-free manner.
The death of the ego can be an enormous struggle of attempted survival. However, the transition of the "soul", the inevitable closure of the cycle, the return to pure Brahman is not a struggle, it is only the letting go that is hard ... A Sound Jouurney to "Self" can assist in calming that struggle, and light the way onward into the eternal and infinite cycles of Brahman.
Om Shanti Shanti Shanti 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻

later edit ... if you read this far' you are probably interested .
OK .. i have already received a few requests from members of the group to contact me in order to discuss this further and learn more, with a view to being able to offer this service .. i appreciate the interest, and I am open to setting up a set of online discussions/workshops to pass my experience over to others.
But ... We are moving house this month, and my Internet services are a mess, so I will be unable to host groups until end- April at the earliest. However, i may be able to squeeze in a couple of one on one sessions or a small group if anyone has an urgent need to know ... i think about 3 or 4 workshops, one per week, would be enough to get experienced practitioners started on the right path ...
