Fun fact about me:

From 2017 till 2021 I worked as a cop.
I quit my job because of multiple reasons.

1) I am a woman of righteousness and I hold dear to my integrity. A lot of work we did was good but I sometimes found myself in situations that I couldn’t stand for at all. I loved the job but I was afraid that it would change my core too much slowly and I didn’t think that was worth it.
2) I didn’t get at ease in the culture
3) I had to do nightshifts and that messed with my system a lot. One time I fel asleep behind the wheel and almost hit a truck that was just a few inches before me when I woke up.

A job is never worth your life.

We work to live.
We don’t live to work.

In the mood for a little strength training and sauna today.

At this point I have both a gym membership that includes a sauna/relaxation area & a Pilates reformer membership because I love both.

And when I only wanna relax I take a walk of 30 minutes to the gym, hit the sauna and walk back.

Whatever my body needs, I’ll listen to that.

I am proud of myself for being able to listen more to my body’s signals and go with what I need instead my military drill I was so used too. Just 1,5 years ago I went 5-6 days a week to Crossfit. Every morning at 09:00 I was there.

That seems good but I forced myself to go even when I was in pain or my body needed rest. For a while, that was my way and it also has its benefits, like discipline. But I am not a man 😂.

Now I understand that movement can be in so many different ways and I actually listen to my body and she will tell me what she needs right now and if it’s a: 👍🏽 or 👎🏽.

This way I can keep it up and actually enjoy it 🫶🏽.

For me the evenings are for setteling down and slowly making myself ready for the bedtime.

I try to manage to do everything I need to do in the daytime so that after I cook dinner I can relax and just be.

First time in my 30 years on this earth that I made a Dutch Dish. This is called “andijvie stamppot”.

It is mashed potatoes with a bit milk and butter, peper, salt, nutmeg and raw endive with bacon and homemade meatballs. I never liked these dishes, but the more I become an adult the more I appreciate the things I disliked when I was younger.

Like: going to bed early, silence, cooking, long walks, reading -but I always loved that-, birds, being home.

Even my plate screams: I am old 😂. To be honest I found these plates working in elderly care and I liked them, so I bought them myself. My taste has been changing a bit, but I know in 40 years I will definitely loveeee them again ahahah!
