8 - Mā Māhāgauri and

Meditation Quote of the Day:

“He who has let go of hatred who treats all beings with kindness and compassion, who is always calm and peaceful, unmoved by pain or pleasure, free of the “I” and “mine,” self-controlled, firm and patient, his whole mind focused on me — that is the man/woman I (Lord Shri Krishna) love best.”

Meditation Quote of the Day:

“As a person acts, so he becomes in life. Those who do good become good; those who do harm become bad. Good deeds make one pure; bad deeds make one impure. You are what your deep, driving desire is. As your desire is, so is your will. As your will is, so is your deed. As your deed is, so is your destiny.”

Meditation Quote of the day:

“Meditation here is not reflection or any other kind of discursive thinking. It is pure concentration: training the mind to dwell on an interior focus without wandering, until it becomes absorbed in the object of its contemplation. But absorption does not mean unconsciousness. The outside world may be forgotten, but meditation is a state of intense inner wakefulness.”

~ The Upanishads

Question asked by a student: What is the importance of time?

Time, or Kaal like we call it in Sanskrit, forms a very important, maybe even the most important, element in our life. Without time we wouldn’t be able to fulfill our duties and responsibilities in life. When someone has succeed in fulfilling all these duties and responsibilities we often hear the phrase ‘’His/her time was up’’, meaning that time has caught up wit us resulting in leaving this physical body behind.

More than often we as human beings are having so many desires resulting in a shortage of time. Firstly we have to look into these desires, if they are relevant in our lives or not and will they enhance the quality of our lives? Secondly we have to find a way to manage time, to control time. Here comes the importance of Mahakaal also known as Kaal Bhairav: the deity ruling over time!

Appeasing Mahakaal through specific rituals results in making effective use of our time, not wasting our time on minor things thus resulting in enhancing the quality of our lives. Also, last but certainly not least, untimely death ‘’Akaal Mrityu’’ can also be removed out of our ways by propitiating Him!

This is the importance of celebrating the yearly Bhairavashtami, which was held last Saturday.

More about Mahakaal later on…

Jai Mahakaal!

Question of a dear friend: How to deal with desires?

The most common thing you will hear in spirituality is to tame your desire(s). I say: fulfill your desire! By taming your desire you are just suppressing certain needs which will take rest on a deeper level of your subconscious mind. But there has to be just one trigger and all will come out with such a speed and power that you will not be able to control the same.

I am not saying do all what comes up in your mind. I am saying: meditate on it...

👉 Observe your desire, the ROOT of this desire
👉 Is this desire objectively seen a REALISTIC
one
👉 Will it cause HARM to me or others?
👉 What will be the final OUTCOME when
fullfilling this desire?

It is normal to have desires in life, but overthink them in such a way that you are aware of the Dharma and Karma involved with it!

Namaha Shivaya 🙏🙏
