✨ Expose my truth Day 29 ✨
🌈 Reiki is a hands-on healing technique, but it’s not only that. It’s a way of living.
💫 With the Reiki 1 course, I learned about the five Reiki principles:
🌱 Just for today, I will not worry
🌱 Just for today, I will not be angry
🌱 Just for today, I will do my work honestly
🌱 Just for today, I will give thanks for my many blessings
🌱 Just for today, I will be kind to every living being
🤩 When you stick to these principles, you will have a beautiful life. They tell you to relax, trust life and do the right thing.
🌿 These five simple sentences all start with the words ‘Just for today’.
🌿 These three words make all the difference to me.
💫 Let’s say you have a bad habit, and you want to change it into a more positive habit that’s beneficial for your quality of life, for example, you want to have a healthy body and therefore change your eating habits. You could say ‘As of today, I’m only eating healthy foods’. On day one, you will be fully motivated, and happy with your wise decision. But after a while, motivation fades and you will crave unhealthy snacks again.
🏔 It can be like climbing a mountain while you’re not trained. It’s a huge project and it can quickly start to feel completely overwhelming, and that’s where the feeling of wanting to quit comes lurking around the corner. It’s too much of a struggle because you want the change to last forever. It’s just too big all at once.
🍃 Three little words can make a huge difference here. When you say: ‘Just for today, I only eat and drink foods that nourish my body’ you only have to stick to it for one day. One day sounds doable, right?
🥳 It takes the pressure off, and at the end of the day, you get to celebrate for sticking to your decision. You feel proud of yourself.
🥳 The next day you say again ‘Just for today, I will only eat and drink foods that nourish my body’. And again you only have to stick to it for one day, you get to celebrate your winnings at the end of the day and you feel proud of yourself.
🥰 Life is made out of countless moments, little slices of now, and at every moment we have a choice in what we want to do and how we want to do it. Every moment we have a choice in how we react.
Now is all we have. Put those slices of now together, and there we have our big change.
