Yesterday was 4th of July, Independence Day
An important date in US history, and marks Independence Day, the famous Declaration of Independence was adopted on July 4, 1776.

A modern 'Declaration of Independence' for humanity is offered by Great Citizens Movement.

What future do we want? Write your letter to the future challenge

With the year ending and a new year coming up, it is time to ask what we, citiznes of the world, want for ourselves, our loved ones, for the world and for society as a whole.

Inotice that many people patiently await what our (new) governments have in mind for us, and 'hope' things will get better, but fear the worst. Indeed, our worst fears may come true, if we do not act ourselves to make the world a better place. "But what can I do?" Many people ask.

Of course, you are the one with the answer, I should not be answering that question.

What does your ideal world look like if there were no constraints (and you could be "God" for a day, deciding the course of humanity? And what will the world look like if we wait for our governments to decide it's fait (i.e. do not change course?)

In the ideal world I have in mind, there is no needless suffering. Systems are in place to serve people, we are not there to serve the systems, or to make an effort to fit into the system. Kids are brought up with the idea in mind that they can become their best possible selves. Societal values are freedom, humanness, and wisdom. With these values as a basis, a process of co-creation can be used to make this world a better place. Hierarchical systems are abandoned and systems of radical direct democracy are implemented and embraced world-wide. In my ideal world, we do this , using evidence-based and effective methods to create a better world that is good for people, planet and all inhabitants of the earth. All people will get the chance to shine, and be their best possible version of themselves.

Wie doet er mee?

Het idee van deze dankbaarheidsbrief is om een brief aan iemand te schrijven aan iemand die jouw dankbaarheid verdient maar waarvan je denkt dat deze persoon die dankbaarheid nog niet, of onvoldoende, ontvangen heeft.

Dit kan iedereen uit je netwerk zijn (vrienden, partners, familie, collega’s, etc.), maar bij voorkeur iemand met wie je kunt afspreken, op bezoek of online.

Zullen we elkaar een mooie kerst bezorgen op deze manier?
