We are so excited to have Sarah and Maram, the duo behind Nifaas Postpartum Care Kits, join us at Find Your Village Birth and Postpartum Fair! They are an herbalist and a creative designer, two sisters and mothers of young children.

They created Nifaas Postpartum Care Kits to mimic the lost village, which was—and still is—essential in the transition into motherhood. In the Nifaas kits, you can find herbal medicine, helping tools, and nutritious, easy-to-prepare meals. This is just the beginning of a mission to bring the village back!

Being born and giving birth are two of the most impactful events in our lifetime. After birth not only does take the new mother 40 days to heal from the wounds of labor, it takes at least this period of time to get familiar with her new role as mother and a differently constructed sense of family. Stress during the first weeks post-labor plays a major role in difficulties with breastfeeding, the slow healing of the womb, issues with bonding between mother, baby and other family members and the experience of postnatal depression.

Ingrid is postpartum doula, trainer, teacher and postpartum advocate dedicating her time and energy to help parents prepare for their postpartum period. Even though the Dutch Kraamzorg service provide some support during the first days, it’s very important that you know your options and make informed decisions. Ingrid will guide you though the postpartum birth plan and shares her expertise and wisdom with you and your partner in order to democratize your postpartum.
