After hiking two different Rainbow Mountains in Peru, I finally put my thoughts into a blog post 🌈

Most people know Vinicunca, but there are actually several Rainbow Mountains near Cusco — all very different in terms of altitude, crowds, difficulty, and overall feeling. During my last trip, I explored Palccoyo and Pallay Punchu, and the experiences couldn’t have been more different.

Back home in Norway, my heart is still in the Sacred Valley of Peru. ✨
I just finished leading a yoga & hiking retreat at the magical Willka T’ika, and I can’t express enough how grateful I am for this experience.

Thank you to the whole Willka T’ika family, our incredible guide Silverio, and to all my wonderful retreat participants — you made this journey unforgettable. ❤️

Many people dream of seeing Machu Picchu, and so did I. But our time in Peru became so much more than checking off a bucket-list destination.

We learned from Silverio’s deep knowledge of Inka culture and history, visited powerful archaeological sites — Cusco, Saksaywaman, P’isaq, Ollantaytambo — and even a Quechua mountain school supported by the Willka T’ika Children’s Fund. 🌱
We took part in an Andean Fire Ceremony, enjoyed a Flower Bath under the stars, connected with llamas and alpacas, listened to an intimate concert with Andean classical musicians, and balanced it all with yoga, meditation and time for reflection in the 7 Chakra Garden, surrounded by flowers and birdsong. 🌸🕊️

Time flew, and we experienced so much that it’s impossible to choose just one highlight — it was the whole journey. 💫

If you’re a yoga teacher dreaming about hosting a retreat in Peru, don’t wait — book Willka T’ika. This place holds something truly special.

I will return in 2027, and I know most of us don’t plan more than 6 months ahead… but if you have a dream or a bucket-list wish, don’t postpone it. Make it happen. Life is now. 🌎✨
