In a world increasingly shaped by data, personal information is the fuel driving innovation, powering essential services, and informing smarter decisions. Across the European Union, groundbreaking research and technology development - supported by programmes like Horizon Europe, Digital Europe, and the Connecting Europe Facility - depend on the responsible sharing of personal data.

Projects such as WARIFA Project, PAROMA-MED Project, ENCRYPT, FLUTE Project - AI & Prostate Cancer, TRUMPET PROJECT - AI & CYBERSECURITY , ONCOVALUE, HARPOCRATES, and TITAN are at the forefront of this movement, exploring advanced technologies while navigating the complexities of data protection.

But with innovation comes responsibility.

Since its enforcement in May 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has laid the foundation for a trusted, accountable data ecosystem. Rooted in the fundamental right to privacy, GDPR establishes a rigorous framework that places risk management, transparency, and accountability at the core of lawful data processing.

So how do leading EU-funded projects ensure compliance while pushing boundaries?

👉 Discover the answer in the paper "Guidance for DPIA Practices from EU-Funded Projects" - a deep dive into how these pioneering initiatives are managing Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) to align innovation with individual rights.
