We chose pharmacy because we wanted to make a difference.

Why does the world praise only "Dr." when a Pharmacist, a Nurse, a Dentist & so many Healthcare heroes share the same mission. To heal, To help, To serve.

👩‍🔬We study just as hard.
👩‍🔬We understand medicine like no one else.
👩‍🔬 We counsel patients, prevent fatal errors, and ensure drug safety every single day.

Being a pharmacy student is not a fallback, It’s a deliberate, powerful, and essential choice.

So today I ask:

💬 Can we start respecting all healthcare professionals equally?
💬 Can we stop treating pharmacists as "optional"?
💬 Can we finally celebrate pharmacy as a proud, primary career?

As pharmacists, it's important we educate patients about 𝗱𝗿𝘂𝗴-𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀—especially the ones that are common but not widely known.
One such interaction is between 𝗖𝗶𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗹𝗼𝘅𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻 and coffee.

🧪 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺?
𝗖𝗶𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗹𝗼𝘅𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻 can slow down the breakdown of caffeine in the body. This means caffeine stays longer in the system, which may lead to:
✅Nervousness
✅Anxiety
✅Insomnia
✅Fast heartbeat
✅Headache

📌 𝐈𝐟 𝐜𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐤, 𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧:
Milk (or any dairy product) contains calcium, which can bind with ciprofloxacin in the stomach and reduce its absorption. This means the antibiotic won’t work as well, leading to treatment failure.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗱?
✅Avoid coffee or caffeinated drinks during 𝗖𝗶𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗹𝗼𝘅𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻 therapy.
✅If you must drink coffee, leave a 2-hour gap before or 4-6 hours after taking the medicine.
✅Avoid taking 𝗖𝗶𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗹𝗼𝘅𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻 with milk or dairy products. Use plain water instead.
