Dear Brothers and Sisters in the Dhamma,
We are pleased to inform you that the Most Venerable Pa-Auk Tawya Sayadawgyi has shown encouraging signs of improvement since his hospitalisation in Singapore on 18 July. From 23 July to 2 August, he was transferred to the ICU to commence renal dialysis. He initially underwent continuous renal dialysis, which was subsequently reduced to regular dialysis.
At present, Sayadawgyi is receiving dialysis every other day in the hospital. Given his advanced age of 92 years, kidney disorder, and weakened immune system, he remains particularly vulnerable to respiratory illnesses such as influenza, COVID-19, and other similar transmissible infections.
In consideration of Sayadawgyi’s well-being, the doctor team currently overseeing Sayadawgyi's medical treatment has strongly advised against all visits from guests, lay devotees, and donors until further notice.
We respectfully request everyone to observe and uphold these guidelines, as doing so will serve as a strong support from all of you to help ensure Sayadawgyi’s health and favourable recovery.
The continued health and longevity of the Most Venerable Sayadawgyi is of immeasurable benefit to countless beings. We earnestly seek your kind cooperation and wholehearted support in maintaining these measures so that Sayadawgyi may remain in good health and continue to inspire and guide us for a long time to come.
May Sayadawgyi be well and happy, strong and healthy!
