This page aims to support Nepalese children from the Manaslu area living in difficult conditions to remain in school though sponsorships, distribution of school supplies, etc. Mané is a mountain guide born in Singla, in the Manaslu area, currently living in Kathmandu. Since 2011, they went to Singla together once a year every year, and this is how this project was born. The aim of this page is to support children who are either orphans, abandoned by one or both parents, belong to the lowest casts (Dalit, Kami) or live in conditions of extreme poverty to get an education. Nepal has one of the lowest educational levels in the world, according to the UNDP- Human Development Index; the literacy level is 64,6% and the quality of public school education is problematic. This project currently supports children from the villages of Khorla, Singla and Mandré in the following way:
- sponsorships of individual children: 25 EUR/ month, all the money benefits the child by providing school uniforms and supplies, vitamines and medicine, food, clothes, shoes, hygiene products
- support for the whole school with school supplies, uniforms, toys, books, etc.
- distribution of clothes, shoes and toys to other children than the sponsored ones. We have some other ideas- whose realisation will depend on funding. If you are interested to join this project, please contact us through the messaging system to discuss about how you can help.
