Lion Heart Courage is a not for profit project that links helping humanity with improved mental health. HOW IT ALL STARTED:
When Tasmania Police Officer, Sarah Bosch, travelled to Nepal in 2017, she took 10kg of coloured pencils with her, that were donated from Pencils Community. Upon arrival, she gave them to a beautiful Nepalese charity group working to re-establish schools destroyed in the 2015 earthquakes. The experience left a significant impression on Sarah and she returned to Tasmania inspired. After being diagnosed with post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) due to critical incidents in her work, Sarah realised her experience in Nepal, of giving the simple gift of a pencil to someone in need, provided her with a new sense of purpose and passion during a very difficult time in her life. Determined to regain some quality of life and mental wellness, Sarah returned to Nepal a second time in the same year, taking another 10kg of pencils and stationery items. She again experienced a profound and positive improvement to her health and passion for living. She wanted to share with others this new way of recovering and moving forward from PTSD and mental challenges. Lion Heart Courage now provides support and opportunities for individuals to explore new or renewed purpose and passion in their lives, to be inspired through giving, and to thrive in life, not just survive. Our heart is for real humanitarian impact with a focus on connection, relationship and love. We seek to act only in ways that empower and equip the communities and individuals we connect with, giving a 'hand up' rather than a 'hand out.'
If you would like to be a part of what we do and experience improved wellbeing through giving, please send us a message! Lion Heart Courage is open to anyone who has a heart for humanity.
